    Default Question about lowering

So, I jumpped the gun and lowered my wife's yukon before there where any real solutions. It works rather well, but the front camber is a problem. Fast forward to now, solutions are starting to come out.

First thing I did was purchase lowering springs for the generation prior that work. Instal them on the front and move the stock front springs to the rear. This works well and provides a drop of about 2.5/2.25 (f/r) the best I can get with the front alignment is something like -1.85 and the few thousand km on the summer rubber, the inside wear was more noticeable than I figured it would be. Forward to now, I purchased a 2" drop spindle for the front and some adjustable shock for the rear (1"-3" drop)

Question is, if I install the drop spindles with the lowering springs, will I have the cumulative drop? (2.5 spring + 2" Drop spindles making 4.5 drop from stock?) Would the drop spindles provide enough to get camber back into acceptable range? Would adding one of the spacers that came with the lowering springs in the front, help camber more by providing less drop?

I'm sure lots of people know about this stuff on here. I've only lowered a couple cars on coils. So not too familiar with drop spindles.

Also, work was done at a shop and will go back to the same shop to get the new parts put on. Looking to see if I can get the adjustable front struts too, but the shipping on them is crazy.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my rambling

Less than 2 degrees of camber shouldn't shred tires too badly. What's it got for toe? I don't exceed 0.1 degree of total toe in the front on my cars. I usually run 0 in the rear actually, but I like them tail happy.

Can't remember. And they didn't have a print out for me to take. I didn't really care since I knew it would be somewhat of a problem as reported on the internet from other who have done the same. Tires aren't shredded by any means, but 26" rubber ain't cheep and I can definitely notice the wear.

Double wishbone suspension? The lower you go the more you will have to correct camber due to the design.

Ya. The drop spindles negate that though no? If I left the stock springs in the front? It would give a 2 " drop with no change to the suspension geometry correct? Would have the full adjustability for camber?

    Edit: 2021 Yukon

Yes if you put stock springs back up front with the drop spindles you'd be good. Combine them and you get the 4" drop like you said.

No comments on the lowering but I'd like to see pics of the yukon!

It's got stock rims on now for winter, I'll get a pic tonight for ya though. It really doesn't look that low. It's about the same height as the last gen when lowered 2 inches. Also the summer rims are 24", not 26.....sad face... still think it looks good though. Might try to get it a bit lower now that I have the spindles. Not 4, but maybe 3" will get it sorted in spring.

I have a buddy with a set of 24" wire wheels that would look sick on that thing. Looks great though, nothing else to add lol

Love wire wheels, but could never own a set. Wayyyyy too much to keep clean. Plus, this would need to be slammed to pull them off. And not a wife mobile...

    Thanks,

2" drop spindles and about a 1"drop on the strut, stock springs in front, rear has drop struts. 3"-ish and stock springs in rear. 24" rims

Lowering isn't something I'm usually into, but damn, that looks really good. Well done, plus those wheels are perfect.

Purchase an SUV only to lower it, defeating the purpose of the thing.

Wheels look good, has the ride quality decreased with the smaller sidewall?

Thanks, seems more practical for a pavement pounder

It's bigger than a wagon, and about the same height as one. The kids can get in and out easier now.... ride seems to he good. Didn't spend much time with the stock rims, besides with the studded winters. Ride seems good
