    NHLTV is 4K?
I never said sports are in 4k. The quality is way better tho, from f1 commercial free, to nhl better bitrate and better visual quality.

    You sound like mitsu now

I can get 4K sports in 4K on Telus, heck the NHL has been broadcasting in 4K for 6 years now.

4K channels are still rare as fuck regardless of provider, and 4K content on those channels (especially sports) is even more rare.
Literally said it was rare. Honestly the only people that should be boasting about 4k sports in Canada should be Leafs/Raptors/Jays fans. If you’re a fan of Toronto sports, 4k sports broadcasts are decent. Everyone else gets 1 game a year in actual 4k, if they’re lucky, with everything else being just upscaled 1080p on a 4k channel. It’s been like that for 6 years.

Half the problem are the arenas. I don’t even think the dome is equipped with 4k broadcast gear. I think they did upgrade their cameras a couple years ago tho.

Do Telus' tv boxes require any sort of cat6 or coax connections? Or are they all wireless like Shaw?

Flames games are very often broadcast in legit 4K actually.

PVR needs to be Hardwired and the other Set top boxes can be wired or wireless.

Cat6. Telus doesn’t use coax for anything.

But I find the quality over wireless suffers. Definition wire every box if possible.

Coax has just been removed from our basement rough in... thanks fellas.

We will hard wire cat6 for the 'wireless' box locations.

If you only have coax in your room and want to hardwire, the Telus tech should have a few MoCA adapters on hand.

Personally. I would still rough coax Shaw at least to the router. Just so you have leverage against Telus.

I just roughed in a coax cable to my rack for this exact reason. Not that I ever plan to use it.

I have coax in a bunch of spots, including where shaw currently comes into mech room. Just not gonna bother adding coax to rec room or office.

I barely watch tv, except for hockey, so I use Telus PikTV which is an app on my Apple TV 4K that delivers all my TV content over IP for $10/month.

Last I saw it was pre Covid, and it was clearly upscaled. I should lend you my nhl tv login so you can compare quality.
