    Default Should I be mad?

My 2020 Sierra started leaking quite a bit of oil, crawled under it and the filter was loose. Probably lost a ~1 - 1.5 liters of oil. Last oil change at the GM dealership was 3 months ago. Figure they didn't tighten the filter enough, and over time it loosened. Once the dealer finally called/emailed back (~ 5 days) their response was pretty much shit happens, maybe the filter is defective, but it was 3 months ago so oh well. Am I crazy for being mad? I kind of figured a free or heavily discounted oil change was fair...or am I being unrealistic?

Don't be mad just yet, check that your drain plug hasn't been tightened to 400 ugga-duggas, requiring a new oil pan. Dealership incompetence is the norm, can't be mad when expectations are met.

You can be mad enough to stop going there. That's about it.

If I did a job for someone and it worked fine for almost 3 months before suddenly becoming a problem I'd probably have a hard time accepting responsibility for it too.

I'd also wonder why, if you thought I did that bad of a job, you'd want me to do it again.

You noticed your filter was loose, and you tightened it. Good for you. Now go somewhere else next time.

Drive the truck through their bay door to show them how displeased you are.

Totally unacceptable, they owe you a new truck and an apology from everyone at the dealership.

The 6.2s GMs are known for filters to loosen off, I always use locktite on the filter threads. Never have an issue.

3 months is a long time to point the finger at someone... unless you're having an unexpected child.

It's fair to tell them for improvement purposes, but it'll likely go nowhere. If you bark enough the service manager might give you a free or discounted oil change.

But really... why? Why even invest the time to start this thread, for that matter? Is this really the struggle of our population now - to question if we should be flipping out about something that ultimately had no effect on anything?

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

This shows infinitely more maturity than simply flipping out. I am fine with threads like this.
I'll take these over "help! My frozen battery is frozen but I don't want to believe it's frozen. How should I deal with not thawing it out because it's not frozen?"
