Biggest thing with the Mercedes Diesels if you go that route. Is Get one that has already had the oil cooler seals repaired, it's a 20 hour job, but once it's done it shouldn't be a problem again. Get the air suspension so it rides nice. Delete it immediately if it's not deleted already. That'll take care of most problems before they happen.

But in general I'd suggest against it unless you're going to do your own wrenching.
