In general we probably shouldn't do cosmetic surgery on animals. Tails, ears, camel lips, whatever. Just don't.
Docking tails I am okay with... If you have ever had a dog with a powerful tail and they break it (like mine did) the results were way worse than if it would have been docked as a puppy. Some working dogs too actually experience damaged tails often and as said, it is a lot harder on a dog who has to have it amputated as an adult than as a pup.

*disclaimer I am not saying this as a cosmetic appeal. Just saying there are situations where with some breeds of dogs and certain situations it makes sense.

we've spent thousands of years fucking with dog's genetics. Nothing about them is natural. May as well choppy choppy on the tail.

My cane corso has given himself "happy tail" 3 or 4 times now...it's so big and powerful that he strains the muscle and then can't walk or sit right for days and is on painkillers for it

He's also burst the tip open 5 or 6 times by hitting things then sprayed blood all over the place because it doesn't stop him wagging it

But yeah, a docked tail when he was tiny tiny would have been worse for him

It'll only be a matter of time until he does something more severe and they have to amputate anyway

    On topic: Cool Doberman!
