I thought you guys would like Jean. He seems the most seperatist.
Cautious optimistic. Would pick him over Smith.

If Jean would commit to forcing a constitutional crisis, then I would vote for him solely based on that.

It’s funny that all the left wing people who wanted Kenney out because Kenney, are likely to instead invite a candidate whose platform is churches should be open during pandemics because man in the sky.

That’s the crux of the leadership contest.

What will be extra funny is when man in the sky guy still beats the NDP in the actual election.

One would think that, given the last couple years with Kenney, this leadership change will be a bad thing for the NDP.

The general population did not like him. He started getting a very "Jim Prentice" vibe later on (his cabinet member calling the top cop, the rooftop dinner clearly violating the rules set in place for us plebs).

While Kenney has not been a bad leader, his promises have effectively been to reverse NDP policy. And he still hasn't completely cleaned house which is beyond stupid.

definitely. Kenney holding onto power at a 51% vote was the best outcome, too bad it didnt happen..

They simply got caught. The city councillors did the same thing repeatedly, the news didn't choose to report it.

Good ol' blinky eh? I've always got the impression he doesn't want the spotlight but I've never had a reason to dislike him.

You can make up whatever shit you want, how I described it is the way it is. And your reasoning for not voting conservatives is ultra retarded. You had a Prentice problem (as did everyone else), not a conservative problem.
The sad part is he holds the average view of a Canadian voter. "I don't like a thing that happened. I'm going to vote against all my values and best interests for the next 4 years because feelings"

"A thing"? As in one thing?
    LoL!
Do tell - which one thing could've caused loyal Conservative supporters at that time to get tired enough to vote for someone else?
When they ousted the popular leader they had for the past 14 years?
When Steady Eddie Stelmach did nothing?
When Redford tried to build her palace?
When Redford did every other crooked, greedy Redford thing she did?
When Prentice continued the culture of flagrant theft, right out in the open?
When Prentice decided that the members we elected from his own party were so unqualified that he had to bring in 2 or 3 buddies to be Ministers?
    Etc etc etc.

If oil hadn't plummeted, Alberta would've got the 2 terms of NDP we deserved and that would've allowed the con 's to get their shit together and purge enough of their rot that they could beat properly unified and focused party ready to lead.
Instead, it's a bunch of Bible thumpers mixed with racist morons and power-hungry, self-absorbed lunatics alongside reasonable Conservatives.

And this has what to do with voting against your values and interests?

Only way I'm voting NDP is if someone holds a gun to my head... no wait, I'd rather die instead.

A sack of potatoes has more brains than the entire NDP party combined.

You're leaving me hanging. I had my lube right beside the bed and I was all ready to go.

Tough to say if I agree or disagree with TPM.

The UCP is clearly a more grassroots focused party, hence why assholes like Prentice aren't being voted in any more. Kenney was good, but not good enough. We need a Kenney sans hypocrisy, I can't stress enough how his ouster was in large part due to him not following his pledges, on top of the good faith destruction he caused with things like the rooftop dinner scene. That was effectively his Prentice "look in the mirror moment". Conservatives are not Liberals, we do not tolerate "do as I say not as I do".

So did Notley need a majority to usher in a better conservatism? Are we any better ahead? All hindsight, and it still is murky of where Alberta would have been. What I do know is that extremes are required to get people to take action, and the status quo of the Alberta Conservatives was untenable. I think it also increased the prospects of Alberta Separation, giving Albertan's a taste of how shitty even the slightest tack towards socialism is.

What are you left hanging about? Do you think the UCP and NDP are the only two parties in Alberta? If you're pissed off at UCP, you either vote Wildrose or don't vote at all. Only an idiot would vote to get fucked in the ass with no lube, just so you could say "There, that'll show you" to the guy who now has shit on his dick. That's what a vote for NDP is if you're conservative leaning. That's literally almost the only benefit to not being 2 party system in Canada. Is you actually have some options aside from masochism if your party is not honoring their duties.
