On who was more politically inept?
ThatÂ’s what the 2012 election was all about. Smiths inability and/or unwillingness to deal with her party’s most predictable problem took them from leading in the polls to handing Redford and the PCs another sizeable majority.

Smith lost to Redford and then couldn’t even get a nomination to run in the next election. Given the political climate at the time, that took some uniquely terrible political acumen. It’s easy to piss people off and burn bridges when you’re at the top. Smith doing so with no power is what sets her apart.

If only there were a head-to-head result that could settle this.
    Liberals - people change

Also liberals - Albertans will still vote exactly the same way as they did in 2012 even though that is the start of the PC's unraveling and Albertan's hating them

I'd say I can't imagine someone being this stupid without a mental disability, but here we are.

I still say Redford because she won and then fucked it up.

Isn't Brian Jean just as far to the right (freedumb trucker supporter) as Smith? I don't want to see either one of them win but at the moment I don't see a bright star anywhere in this bunch of candidates.
I don't think so. One example that was said was Jean had stated in the past during Covid that if he were leader, he would have Notley on the Covid response committee and been collaborative. I also think he's more serious about doing something about the state of healthcare.

Still, I don't know who I'm voting for.

Healthcare does not need another union shill involved.

Health care spending is like 50% of the budget, not sure what you think is going to help. Budget has ballooned from 42 billion to 62 billion in three years btw.

Complete and total reform into something that works would be a start. Why people want to continue with what we have is truly staggering. Throwing more money at it is even more idiotic. I think the biggest obstacle would still be staffing issues, which seems to be a wide spread issue, not just in Canada.

Completely agree with the ballooning budget. It's been a steady increase. Not sustainable.

Don't worry tho eveyone. I'm sure the NDP with the likes of Hoffman and Farrell can fix healthcare LOL.

That would be my immediate assumption too. But I would guess we might start to see more side switching as the Liberal party continues to defy public sentiment and go further and further towards full Communist party of Canada. If you want to win an election(that isn't rigged) you'll likely want to start siding with the majority of voters.

Well, the leadership debate was enlightening. Partially in that women being given enfranchisement to vote/run for office was a mistake, partially that the UCP is stuffed full of socialists, and partially that Danielle Smith seems to shoot from the hip waaaay too much and my opinion of her has gone down quite a bit.

Interesting that Toews won't answer the question about $4bil unaccounted for in pandemic spending but claims the government audit was given a clean bill of health.

Finally, a lot of people don't seem to get that the Sovereignty Act is supposed to cause a constitutional crisis. It will definitely have an affect on business investment. But that doesn't matter, investment is gone and not coming back the way it was, but at least the projects that did get built have graduated to their highest royalty payouts and will continue to do so until they have exhausted their resources.
