would you want to be anywhere near the leadership of the party where you simply cannot get both sides of the 'united' on board? I think Rempel knew it was a zero win opportunity... and now she can stay in Oklahoma

We're years or decades away from an election that won't result in UCP win.

Apparently this was a thing tonight, terrible advertising

    TL;dw

Everyone is a wet blanket (including Jean) except for Smith. Seems some folks are having a real tough time understanding that we know this is "unconstitutional", just like many things the feds do are.

Also lol at Toews for suggesting the Alberta gov doing this would lead to some form of lawlessness. He is right on the "fuck that person" pile with Rempel.

I'm confused. What part of Rempel deciding not to run "rocked" the UCP?

Whatever narrative the dippers want you to hear is what gets printed.

Not sure what you expected from the media arm of the NDP Don Braid

UCP voters get what they want! Shockwaves!

I can not get over the insanity that is leftwing news coverage of conservatives.

    Cons cut spending! Literal nazis!

The narrative that Alberta doesn't pay into equalization and that the O&G industry gets massive tax breaks is very, very strong.

If the UCP doesn't come out with a very strong candidate from this leadership campaign I'm not convinced that we won't end up with Rachel again next year.

IMO Smith is the only one who could cause this. Her history may come back to haunt her, and not every Conservative Albertan wants to seperate (or even to threaten seperation).

As long as UCP stay "united", I don't see how we will end up with NDP again.

AS for keep it united, am I reading it wrong that Jean has better chance than Smith? Or IE, would a Smith win bolster NDP's chances?

Glad I'm not the only one seeing that Smith = higher chance of NDP winning.

Isn't Brian Jean just as far to the right (freedumb trucker supporter) as Smith? I don't want to see either one of them win but at the moment I don't see a bright star anywhere in this bunch of candidates.

Then they aren't conservatives, because they are operating with emotion instead of logic. Separation IS the logical choice, or at the very least moving towards it is the only way to gain any form of leverage.

Liberals should be overjoyed at the prospect of living in a "post nation" society such as Alberta, who cares about Canada? Canada has fucked Alberta/the west since inception.
