    Nah. Fiscal conservatism is small tax and small government and not much else. Social conservatism is banning gay marriage because some people interpret an old book to say its a sin. Or telling a girl you’ve never met that she can’t choose what she does with her body, again because of a book. Both of which are the opposite of small government btw.

    You clearly have no idea, as neither of these things have much to do with religion and everything to do with society. And both have direct social implications on policy, and therefore, as policy can only be enacted (for the most part) by spending money, fiscal policy.

    They go hand in hand. To be socially liberal is to also be fiscally liberal. There is no magical in between, which is why the conservatives are made fun of for being liberal-lite.
