Stand-up comedy, they're pretty close, but Chapelle also made a very re-watchable tv series. Bills tv show isn't even watchable the first time.

Chris Rock, like most standup, is very "of his era". Standup has moved on a lot since his generation. Youtube and the like have been amazing for standup because we can access so much of it and see waht is modern.

I agree and I was tricked by this for too long.
I still find someone like Ali Wong funny, but it's pretty low hanging fruit to spend 45 min talking about your pussy and blowing dudes.
That entire Always Sunny episode "I'm Sweet Dee and the Joke's on Me" was satirizing that. (In my opinion).
