If you’ve watched King Edward, you’d know Will Smiths acting ain’t that good to pull this it’s real conspiracy off. Honestly, I’m more shocked that he won an Oscar for that performance. It was literally Will Smith with a scruffy beard, dropping in and out of some weird mumble accent, only doing it 1/2 the time. I don’t really watch or follow the Oscar’s but what was the competition? Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O?

That's cause these awards are rarely given based on acting and more on campaigning by the actors and studios. I wouldn't go as far as to saying they bribe the voters, but that's essentially what it is. It's all a marketing and promotion thing. Back when people used to buy movies for home video, they could drum up more sales by saying "Winner of the YYYY Academy Awards" or "Best Actor/Actress" etc... The actor winners and nominations are also used in upcoming movie promotions for the same reason.

That's why I never watch any awards show ever.

Nobody even knows or cares who the winners were this year as it's all been overshadowed by Smith's actions. I get that there's a lot of skeptics out there that think this is great for the Oscars but it's really not. In fact it's a disaster for the award winners as this year will only be remembered for a single event while the award winners have been totally overshadowed.
