but yes realistically, the car would be way more fun with another 100hp
My buddy that owned it turbo'd it. Got his 100 hp. Was still pretty slow

    Super cool car nonetheless !

When I picked up 2004 Subaru STI hatch, I recall it was in the $42k range
    No such thing.

STI wagon came out in 2008.

2004 was the first STi Canada got and was sedan only with the shopping cart wing.

    I bought a 2005 STi in June of 2004 for $50K OOTD.

EDIT: what Benyl said. I replied before I read the entire thread.

I think favourable exchange rate resulted in lower prices for the GR (2008+) hatch. Probably helped that there wasn’t any updates to the EJ25 for like 25 years.

Just like you said; cars like this have been $50k for a long time but you’d only know that if you actually ponied up. This is why we got passed over for basically every performance German wagon the last 2-3 decades. I picked up mine yesterday, about $55k otd and I had to pay pst. I’d say that’s fair value compared to what kind of performance you’re getting. In fact toyota could have moved the base price up CDN $9-10k, still less than what most guys are paying in the states, and it would still be reasonable.

Word up, represent. This R3 is probably one of my favorite cars posted in this thread, it even gets forgiven for being blue. So sick. Team Mclaren never disappoints...

us peasants drive cheap japanese imports.

Just arrived today, perfect timing for that gas price increase. Nothing like $120 to get you 300KM

And here I was thinking I was the only one who thought the RX-8 was an awesome car. Those apex seals though, need a rebuild after a 100k. Sold mine with 80k on it.

I miss my RX8 so much. It was so fun. It was a 2006 Special Edition with the Cooper Red exterior and Alcantara seats. Never had any issues with it until I sold it at ~ 96km.

Woodridge Ford had a silver one with less than 20kms on it last summer but they wanted some silly price for it. I think it was an auto as well.

I don't really understand Buster's meme response but that car brings back good memories, maybe I'm not old enough to get it.

Neela drove the RX-8 in FF Tokyo Drift, so that's how I knew I was cool back in 2010.

I knew a guy that bought a new RX-8 and just hated it. He had a bunch of issues such as catalytic converter failures and the leather on the drivers seat at 6 months from new looked 5+ years old worn. It seemed like a cheaply built car to me. I think they also had the rust issues of Mazda's of that era.
