Need to use the connections to get onto Cypress Point to stay away from the gaudy green fee payers.
You do raise a good point. Need to buyout a full foursome to avoid being paired up with realtorsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Lol that’s true. I just meant in terms of snooty golf clubs in and around Calgary. CGACC takes the cakeThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Do people actually call golf courses "tracks"? That's peak douche bro talk right there.
Golf lingo is the absolute worst of all the douchey lingos out there. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The only time I'll use the term "track" when referring to a golf course, is when I'm calling a public golf course for the poors a "goat track".
Not nice to make fun of low budget public courses. Only big budget courses deserve such derision. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Basically this whole thread is about golfers being cunts. I'm a golfer. I'm not concerned with being nice. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Read the fuckin room.
As a pleb who will never afford this. How does it work in terms of usage fees?
Like you pay your up front big cheque and plus your yearly dues per person on your account. That's easy but after that what else do you pay for? I'm assuming free use of the facilities and golf course as much as you want like any rec membership. I'm assuming drinks and food cost money though? Or is there certain things included and pay for premium things?
Poor person golf is 10/10 is more enjoyable, sure they probably still frown upon golf cart shenanigans, but they tolerate it.
Lake Joe club was probably some of the most stressful rounds I’ve played, but the local 9 hole near some random campground (bonus point if they’re attached) is just so carefree

You pay $67k up front, and then amortize that over 125,000 free beers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Voila!
It varies by club, but you basically got it. Pay up front, pay yearly dues, and usually there's some sort of annual capital fund, or periodic special assessments for large capital projects (or both). Those "basic" fees give you unlimited access to golf and driving range, usually club cleaning/storage, locker, etc. Everything else is over and above (pro shop purchases, food and bev, tournament fees, etc etc). Most decent courses have simulators to use during winter, some charge a nominal fee/hr to use them. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The one that burns me is cart fees

Anyone know the current rate for CGACC?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If you have to ask…
Except in reality the wait list is longer than the number of years you have left on the planet.

Indeed. The rate doesn't matter, unless you're the spawn of a current member... in which case the rate still doesn't matter. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Again, not a golfer, but I've spent enough time out there to imagine the environment at Lake Joe club would make Glencoe feel like the aforementioned random campground courseThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
