Exciting!
Planning to make a trip to Rad?
I've been meaning to make a trip over at some point but definitely before season is over.
I'd like to try to get there especially since it sounds like if I shut it down at the 1/8th I can get away with murder. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
But the reality is I'm going to be lucky to make Miles of Mayhem naturally aspirated. Sentry will hate this but I'm even foregoing an intercooler for now since I'll likely run ethanol at the track.

If you only want to run 1/8 mile, go to Rimbey…the track hooks much better and they are pretty chill with safety requirements. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Ha! Just realized I said the same thing earlier in the thread already!
I know Edmonton is just easier depending on timing. Would rather fuck up at the street legals if shit explodes vs Rimbey. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I doubt I get the car faster then 7.5 on a stock 4L80 converter anyways. Just doing the junkyard thing, university is expensive. I've heard there is a guy in Edmonton that can dick with the stock ones for a higher stall, might send him the spare I have.

Ethanol is magic so you can get away with no ic, and if you're just running 1/8 then IATs dont have as long of a chance to climb. Intercooled is always better though.
Heard good things about Rimbey but never been. Even when I lived in the Red Deer area I never ventured over.
Always preferred 1/4 mile even if all the fun happens in the first hundred ish feet.
Well that's good to hear, as I'll be force feeding blown GT45 pieces directly into the throttle body (hoping everything lines up for a straight shot)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Some guy in Airdrie ordered the pictured Huron Speed T4 hotside piping for a 4th gen with forward facing truck manifolds.
I'm a guy with a 4th gen and forward facing truck manifolds. Figured this would really speed up the process versus doing a shit job myself, and for $425, materials would have easily been $200 alone.
Was away farming the past 10 days so waiting until tomorrow for 4L80 swap. If successful, then its turbo time!

Been a busy weekend and didn't even get to touch the Firebird. Hopefully tomorrow.
I don't think I posted this thing idling as it currently sits, so here ya'll go
For some reason if I don't get this car sorted in time, I am likely picking up another LT1 stick car later this week that is solid daily driver material (and by daily, I mean winter as well). More to come on that though, one day at a time!

Damn those pieces of wood on the jack even has me nervous. And I do shit like that all the time.
4L80's are too damn big! I never went under the car like that though, I'm not feeling particularly suicidal at the momentThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just had to get it high enough as the tranny jack wouldn't go lower to clear the frame. I'm shopping for used hoists...
Got another piece of the puzzle in, B&M Stealth Pro Ratchet
Now to just get my ass out to the shop

A lift is the way to go…has significantly decreased the amount of sketchy shit I’ve had to do under cars!
I got a 2-post from Atlas Equipment…the price was reasonable, depending on your budget.

Next house in my future is definitely going to have/get a lift in the garage/shop.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
It's in!
Swapped out this hose. For those that don't know, capping the heater core takeoffs effs with coolant flow and causes overheating on a lot of swaps. Same with trying to use heater hose to do a loop. This prestone piece was $9.99 shipped from Amazon next day delivery.
Now to go for a spin.
Things to do: swap bent rear rim, fab cooling shroud (and possibly add extra fan), figure out how to toggle control windows.
Pray it shifts when I take it for a spin or I'm done for Miles of Mayhem

I have an extra set of dual Altima fans if you want. They were too big for my car.
Low 4.5 amp draw, high 7.5 amp draw +/- 10%. Low 974 cfm each, high is 1420 cfm per fan. I dunno if that's enough for your setup tho.
Dammit…real streetcars run heater cores!!
Rich people have heater cores, us poors make do with hoodies lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Donjuan, thank you for the offer, but it seems rock solid. One fan, no shroud, idles at 205 in the 30* day
Oh yea, I TOOK IT FOR A RIP AND I HAVE ALL MY GEARS!! MILES OF MAYHEM HERE WE COME BABY!
