Default EV conversions - anyone looked into?

Just poking around at a no good really bad idea that's rattling around in the back of my head...

Anyone actually looked into doing an EV powertrain swap?

I've spied the 12Kus$ fancy tesla motor v8 conversion - just the motor... Fords apparently got a motor for 4k$, GM has a bolt based conversion kit out this year?

When I look at vehicle specific swaps (late 80s toyota pickup chassis) - looks like majority have gone with a nissan leaf donor.

Just curious if anyones gone down this rabbit hole - And curious on what's a reasonable budget in canada if one was insane enough to do it? I see lots of EV conversion forums but I also notice they're at odds over a lot of details - but don't know enough to know which one might be more correct.

I was looking at building a E-motorcycle but got too busy with life.

I've always wondered why on trucks there can't be a retrofit hybrid system that is an assist like on bikes. Put it in between a two piece driveshaft, have it help in stop and go/around town/while towing.

Seems like it would be an easy system to implement. Trucks already get 10L/100km on the highway, they don't really need help while cruising.

I've wondered as well. IMO, a good truck hybrid would be PHEV FWD for city driving, gas RWD for towing/hauling/highway, and the PHEV system could supplement as part time 4WD when needed.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

I thought gay conversion therapy was frowned upon...
    Is this different?

I like the idea of doing this to an old econo 4cyl for a car to run around town in… would probably be an improvement to all aspects of driving it:

Ive thought about this too and I think a cool way to do it would be:
    Automatic Yaris (FWD 100hp)
Retain gas drivetrain up front and add 100-200hp of electric in the rear.

300hp AWD hybrid with the ability to operate gas or electric independently. Would be quick and fun too

It's not a challenge to match a 22re in a toyota with electric it would appear Pretty sure every modern electric seems to be more HP than it.

I know EV-west lists a adapter plate for the 22R series too - but it's 1000$ - pretty sure I could throw some measurements at gretz and shave a bit off.

I've been trying to convince myself I don't need anything but an old prius or aveo/spark-ish, but my truro rentals say - I'm pretty sure I need a small pickup.

So apparently the GS450H transmission is the 'new' thing in EV conversions.

Huh, 250kw is 330hp. That almost seems ludicrous in an old toyota if weight can be managed.
