I've got to assume the only people voting no are the divorced ones. Why would you stay with your spouse otherwise?

Fiancé already makes more than double what I do. Would be hard to do better.
Have you considered adding a second wife?

I think another layer must be added.

Divorced with no kids, will re-marry.

    Divorced with kids, less likely.

Reason - someone is there for when they’re old. People need support as they age.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

Didn’t plan on getting married (am still), really doubt there would be a second time.

Can someone explain the 7.2 I keep seeing in threads - I assume someone said 7.2m wasn’t enough? 89Coupe?

Sounds like you need to hit the car wash for a photoshoot, drop by the GGCC on Free-CoorsLight-Friday, and drop all that cuntery!

To OPs question: I wonder how much of this is influenced by media - i.e. only show the perfect moments, everything is easy, etc. My wife is great (and she makes more than I do, too!), but of course it's never always perfect and there are things you need to work on. Communication is always at the heart of that, and I think people forget that what they see on IG or random blogs isn't always an accurate representation of reality.

Marriage is a double-down, and a double edged sword.

In some cases, it encourages a couple to work out their issues because they took an oath to do so. It is a unity that, if taken for it's original intent, is a lifelong commitment to each other that was made. I think this is especially true if both were married under the context of religion, which adds another element. Add children to the mix, and it becomes all that more important to make it work. With all that said, I'm not sure the "weight" held by a marriage union is anywhere close to what it used to be.

On the other hand, should a relationship need to come to the end it often becomes a spectacle which ends up hurting both parties more than if they had just not bothered. And again, if kids are involved it can be that much worse. I think in most cases this is the result of the female feeling slighted and wanting revenge so she ends up acting irrational and like a total bitch, but it can obviously this behavior can come from either party. Usually the male side just wants to move on and cut ties as quickly as possible, imo.

Would *I* do it all over again?

I'm surely best off not answering that on a public forum, considering my wife and I are still technically together.

    Dont be poor.

    Dont be ugly.

    Definitely dont be both.
I think you have them wrong.

It's a triad. Beauty, Brains and Drive.

You can be ugly, smart and driven which usually = rich and a hot significant other.
You can be ugly, dumb and driven which usually = middle class with a middle of the road significant other
You can't be ugly, stupid and lazy. Then you are just an American who lives in the south and your sister is your significant other.

I always wonder if I should have stuck with the last ex long term girlfriend. Threads like these make me realize it was probably the right choice to dump her when it made sense.

What about arranged marriages? If the first one ended in a public stoning do you wrassle up another volunteer?

What made you realize she wasn't the one?

Statistically these have a higher percent chance of staying together for life, and also murder.

    To add to thread:
Been married for 5 years now. Couldn't be happier and cant see myself with anyone else; she's smart, hot and more successful than me.
I've been told that I punch well above my weight class. #thinlyveiled

I'd never have a wedding again but being in a relationship with someone who moves in or vice vera is pretty much marriage without the papers.

    This is true.

I would probably put them thus: charisma, intelligence and work ethic.

There might be a fourth: decision-making skill. This seems to be a quality all on its own. I know smart, charismatic hard working people that still manage to not be able to make comparative decisions well. It sinks them.
