Are you still slanging white stuff on the side for company's like ours?
I like the way you phrased that, and yes.

    This is the way.

Early congrats to you, ES. I've heard the industry has been more stable than usual, fingers crossed it stays level for awhile.

I've been "farming" this one pretty intensely for 6 months, and started the early conversations nearly a year ago. This would never hit a recruiter, there was never a posting. It's crazy, I haven't gotten a posted role since 2008, and I have had A LOT of jobs since then. Actually come to think of it, I knew someone on the inside for that one, and for the one before that. I have truly never once in my professional career gotten a role without a strong inside contact pushing for me.

Similar boat, previous employer pushed me to a recruiter service based out of New York that had some of the most brain dead advice I’ve ever received. I’m sticking to networking and getting my name in with people who might hire in the near future rather than dealing with the black hole that are recruiters.

The job description of a "recruiter" has changed a lot in the last 15 years.

    Educated with some work experience.
They can be fresh from school, but I don't want to be their first ever employer.
