The low-end Bosches are sometimes $600. Not sure we'll ever see that again though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I shall reiterate never ever ever Samsung.
Same thing as above - Full Samsung appliance package from developer on our condo. In the 10 years we've owned it each one has either been repaired or replaced. Parts are not cheap, no one wants to work on them & it's always some over engineer design made as cheap as possible so it end up breaking and costing more than it should.
Anyways, when our dishwasher went there we replaced it with a last year model Whirlpool that was on sale from Home Depot for $600. Worked good so far, but it's cheap, so no fancy features to fail either though... Would buy again.
Currently have GE in the house. Better than Samsung, but not overly impressed. Half the stuff has needed service, but at least parts are cheap and so far I've been able to diagnose and install everything myself unlike the filthy Korean ones.

Another against Samsung, appliances are 7 years old:
Dryer - had the heating element replaced, the wheels squeak now so I have to take it apart and replace those.
Dishwasher - leaks from the bottom of the front door where the vents are.
Fridge - has the icing issue. Temps inside the fridge were about +10 so I spent a couple hours taking the fridge apart and melting all the ice build up. Temps are back to where they should be now.
My Bosch dishwasher has been great and ultra quiet think it was $900 a few year ago.
My samsung fridge doesn’t make ice, my samsung range is making some weird noises now and the light stays on saying it’s hot. One more thing fails on it I’ll go buy a new non samsung range.
So far, over last 2 decades, Whirpool and Kitchenaid has not done me wrong.
My place has a full Samsung appliance package put in a couple years ago. Every single appliance matchy matchy grossness.
I basically assume they will all need replacing by the end of next year.

Ha ha, we make products that break best!
The one thing I will give LG. Is their out of warranty repair program is stellar.
At least you know when your LG appliance breaks it doesn’t mean you need a new appliance ( Samsung *cough* )

Tap, Rack, BANG!
Ikea used to do a sub-$500 dishwasher that got good reviews
Infact, their appliances in general get good reviews and I'm led to believe (from the in-laws) that the stuff has a 5-year warranty
4-5 years in for my Kitchenaid set. Have not had to make a call yet but this doesn't sound good at all. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Bring me the handle and i'll 3D print you one. Sweet gold color too.

Nah it's not a separate handle, it's the entire front of the unit, curves and you put your hand behind it. The entire light grey part above. it might be possible to print one, but it's a really complex part, and quite large. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I recall a plumber telling a friend what to look for in a new dishwasher. One of the key things he said was avoid the ones that have buttons on the door(on the top part of the actual loading door). He has seen so many of these fail. He explained when the washer gets hot, the steam damages the buttons over time.

Another +1 for avoiding Samsung like the plague.
There should be some fasteners behind there holding everything together. I’ve had my Bosch door completely apart a few times now and didn’t encounter anything particularly difficult to deal with inside. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
There’s a million videos online for repairing these Bosches and that’s not a good indicator of quality.
