Once you realize our government is an unashamed kleptocracy everything they do and say makes a lot more sense.
If you are going to rob Peter to pay Paul, you are always going to get the vote of Paul.

    Canada in a nutshell.

The trick is convincing everyone they are Paul, almost all of them are Peter but they are too dumb to realize it.

The Germans, Swiss, and Viennese all seem fine with having a huge percentage of the population renting, which is much easier to make affordable. But the obsession with ownership and promising people they deserve it and their dreams should come true is how most politicians earn a living.

Kert should move into government housing. I’ve heard it’s great. Really…. Cosmopolitan. The culture he can experience.

Don’t worry about needing bike lanes, your bike won’t last long lol.

When voters feel it’s their right to own, the government will try to abide.

Why do you deserve to own a house? Why does anybody?

So how would this work if one non-married partner already owns a home and the other partner pays rent. Can the non-owning partner contribute to the account and then use the funds when they jointly buy their next property?

It’s the question people should be asking their MPs and MLAs, councillors and prospective leadership candidates, since they’re all aboard the ‘housing affordability’ train.
