    I will say, he's incredibly transparent, and that's a quality I admire.

so apparently some folks are "quitting twitter" now that Elon has taken over. I don't get it. Has the user experience changed that quickly?
    Cancel culture strike again.

Isn't this just purest form of direct democracy?

End of the day, free to use platform will do the bidding of advertisers. The minute advertisers ain't getting their bang for $, they'll look for the next thing. And he's also going about this ass backwards, Youtube pay content creator to stick around. They don't charge them.

Well it's gonna be drama either way, get the popcorns out.

Twitter isn't really a content platform, it's a communication platform.

With video and picture, it's really not that different than Snapchat/Insta.

None of them are youtube, is the point. Youtube is unique.

Funny you mention it. There is already correct fact checks starting to show up now. They put a fact check on a post from Ex-Vice President Biden. When he claimed gas wa like 6$ when he came into office. The fact check shows the actual price on January 20th as being $2,29 or something like that.

People are reporting that the suggested bar is changing and not so full of left leaning people now.

    Few other things.

But the main problem for the lefties on the platform that claim they want to quit. Is that the entire left relies on limiting people's access to the truth, so they can lie without being called out for it. It appears those days are gone for them on Twitter now. So if you're left leaning, I imagine your user experience is going to suffer if everytime you post something, you get called out and shown the facts of exactly why you're wrong. What's the point anymore? You either have to change your mind and start using logical thoughts, or run away to another echo chamber.

I guess we will see. Mathematically his idea makes a lot more sense. If a few of the thousands of blue checks don't want to pay to be a blue check any longer, that will likely pale in comparison to the millions of schlubs that will gladly pay to have some useless blue check to stroke their ego and feel important.

Everything I've been hearing makes me think Elon is going to turn Twitter into a behemoth of revenue. The potential issue that could happen is that the lefties might just run away to a new twitter competitor that promises to ensure the type of censorship they like, along with the government propaganda sewering Musk and his platform.

I don't know that Twitter should be a singular man entity. Would also not be on a platform that was solely owned by Charles III.

    Who is with me comrades?

It appears Elon Musk is with you, he is the one that invested a pile of personal wealth in it, just to take it back from the singular narrative gate keepers and make it a free open community instead.

To truly be free you need to get rid of advertisers worth $5B of revenue in 2021 and 85% of that is from ads.

    That's 52M verified users at $8/mth a piece. From current 400k verified.

That's what freedom will cost and for a generation that has not pay for anything on Web 3.0, a really tall order.

Twitter is a massive revenue generation system for content creators, "coaches", business, etc... $8 to have a blue check and priority in replies and less ads is an easy choice for many users.

No one important will be leaving the platform.

Personally I think it was a mistake, perhaps the first for Elon.

Not really a fan of either, but watching them go at each other in the last 24h is entertaining. Don’t think Elon stand a chance against her.

AOC is a clown, but social media game strong. I'm sure her supporters love this virtue signaling.

"You're a union buster with an ego problem who pockets the change from underpaying and mistreating people."

I'm trying to think of a higher compliment.

I'm getting tired of people equating freedom of speech with posting on a privately owned social media companies app.

It's hilarious seeing how many smooth brained morons are having a meltdown over Elon charging $8 and "limiting free speech".

    1) It's $8 for a blue checkmark, not to tweet;
    2) Weren't you all just melting down over Twitter no longer having the ability to limit free speech because that free speech might offend you?

These lefties are so angry their brains no longer work.

    You have that backwards.

They are lefties because their brains don’t work.
