Default Looking for partners that want to get out of the 9-5 rut

I've been working for a long time and finding its not giving me what I want. I would like to venture into something different and I have some ideas but I would like to work with others to a) have some form of financial backing b) leverage different skills c) stop working the 9-5 and d)ultimately have equity in something

If you have disposable funds and want to start something online, real estate or whatever it may be send me a PM. I can share more details with you and answer questions you may have. At this point I am looking for ideas and someone that I could work with and partner with. I know this may not be a popular place to start but having been in the Beyond community for over 15 years there appears to be some solid individuals that with the right direction and push we could make something happen. If this is you shoot me a PM.

    Cheers!

If you want true freedom, do it on your own. Working with (or for) someone else will always mean you have an obligation to someone, whether its time, or financial, etc. Just go into business for yourself, and once it grows to the point that you can be hands off, you can hire people to work for you.

I am hopeful that you've given it more thought than is clear in that post. Because of you need both money and ideas from someone else, I can't understand what they'd need you for.

Starting your own business can be incredibly rewarding, but it's generally not profitable for 18-24 months, so you need to be able to support yourself with income that long, or have that rare idea that is profitable sooner.

    If you don't like working 9-5 M-F I hope you like working 7-8 S-S.

Because that's what I had to do, for about 5 years.

Invest in a large chunk of land on the outskirts then develop the area into residential community, those usually provide double returns anywhere from 5-10 years. Disclaimer I’ve never done it myself personally, for those with knowledge and capital they’ll do it themselves, but there’re investment groups you can get into for a few thousand bucks and you just buy shares in and sit back relax.

Definitely understand that if you get out of the 9-5 rut you're getting IN to the 7-9 grind for often several years. But if you're smart and lucky you might get to the whenever to whenever grind after that.

I feel like someone needs to change the "that" to "who" in the title before I have a stroke.

Ain't that the fucking truth. Longer so when a pandemic happens and pushes you back a year.

I think you misread. He has ideas, just doesn’t have a) skills, b) money, c) motivation to work, and expects d) equity out of it.

    Brutally honest analysis.

That's a perfect analysis of how I am. FML.

EDIT: On a serious note, if the OP has some genuine ideas and a real direction then I am open to hearing him out.

If anyone is looking for a silent partner who provides zero financial backing, works less than a 9-5, and will only take a 49% stake in profits PM me. Alternatively, if you like make up/storage containers/tight pants/smelly waxes and want to be an entrepreneurial boss babe I can help with that too.

Partnerships rarely work out, mainly because too many chiefs/not enough indians.

As others have said, you have to build something first to bring someone on. Also you need to be realistic, I looked for partners once I established my business but the asks that came with financial assistance were outrageous.

If you need to ask for money, you're going to get screwed. If people ask you to invest money, then you are probably doing pretty well.

A typical business takes FIVE YEARS to become profitable. A lot of business owners earn poverty wages (or lose money) during this period.

I started a successful business and then had the rug pulled out from under me (importation/distribution business that suddenly had supply stop). Tried to pivot, but the industry was quite cozy between competitors and I think they were happy to see the business fail.

This is a great idea. Working for a living is massively overrated.

I’ll give you some advice for a 5% stake.
