The main guy had a Liberty Walk Maserati.
Take that information and form your opinions, accordingly.

I'm not wrong, am I? This is a Rep Media event from the guy that started 780tuners.com before they pulled the plug on it and turned it into a Facebook group of... Facebookness.

Didn't even know this was happening.
Guess not having social media, doesn't help.
Some intense stories, seems like a few young wrappers heating it up with em wrap battles.

Your friend sounds like a loser.
Nah, there was some pretty awful cars there. Watching his stories made me lose any FOMO I had about forgetting it was happening.

Are import models not a thing anymore?
Danny Riel was there, or so instagram tells me.

How many beyonders even knew about it, or would have gone if they did? A pretty small fraction of guess.
We’re old here so I don’t expect many of us left actually attending. It’s a new young social media crowd, friends of my kid had media passes posting on instagram ffs lol. I’d say it was one of the busiest driven shows I’ve seen. I’m still a ricer at heart so I enjoyed it.

My thoughts as well. My guess is the organizers aren’t tasteless idiots; it comes down to lowering standards, or having a big venue with 17 cars in it cause no one else could make the cut. Based on the last time I was there, they took a similar approach with the “models”.
It’s been the same since the beginning. Calgary has never had enough tier 1 cars to fill an entire show, even with some cars coming from neighboring provinces. Hell, I don’t think any of the cars I’ve entered over the years was tier 1 level. Most of us that entered back then were the fillers haha.

I'm excited to hear anyone young likes cars still. My nephew has zero interest and it's depressing.

I'm still salty about that. A facebook group does NOT make up for a proper forum, not even close. Edmonton doesn't have any other car-centric forums (that I'm aware of) to fill in the gap that 780 used to occupy. Its sad. Rage can keep the lights running here at Beyond for 20 years strong. Not sure why Seto couldn't.

Probably because Beyond has the most real estate expert ratio than any forums out there. Hence Calgary RE always been hawt.

I'd also rather have a beyond/forum account, than an FB account.

Speaking of filler cars, my kids were confused when we saw both a Trackhawk and Golf R (although MK8) at the show. Why are Mom's cars parked in here?

But I agree with Rage, the place was absolutely packed. There were some cool cars, some not so cool but whatever, that's any car show, show some support or there won't be the option to go to any car show.

The lineup to get in was also a shit show and quite disorganized but whatever, we eventually got in and they were doing their best.

We did leave early and only made one quick stroll through the show as the music was legit deafening but clearly it's not tailored for 40 year old Dad's wearing New Balance and their young kids.
    I like neat cars.

I did not know about it but if I had I would have taken my 4 year old. He loves that shit. Frequently he will yell out "DAD THERES A RACE CAR" when we pass a red or green coupe so to see actual done up cars would be a blast for him. My work has a Lemans car that I took him to see a few weekends ago and he thought it was the coolest thing and even gave me shit for touching it.

Our 6 year old is obsessed. Refused to leave, watched the boring awards ceremony to see which cars won. Found out I used to enter cars and won awards, and pissed off at me on the drive home that I never kept them.

It's pretty clear we aren't the target demographic anymore. My neighbours' 15 year old heard about it and asked if I've heard of this show, so had him tag along with us.

    So we old now?
    Damn.

My 2 year old is into all things with an engine. We got him a book with pictures of all kinds of machinery (boats, planes, cars, trucks, bikes etc) and he learned from there. He knows all of his trucks, excavators, diggers etc. Can identify cars on the street such as Porsche 911, VW Beetle, Mclaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Teslas, Audis, Jeep and also funny enough....Toyota Siennas. I told them they are hybrid and he remembered that. Everytime he sees one he will say "hybrid van over there". Looking forward to taking him to a few outdoor car events this summer. I think he will really enjoy.
