Little over 1 year update with the Ioniq 5. First year was flawless, no issues with the car, took lots of road trips throughout Alberta and BC with it, ran fine in -35C, and now 15k kms in it the range is still as good as when I got it. Excuse the dusty screen.

I thought it was a "stary night" space themed background on your screen, haha

Definitely one of the best looking EV's for daily driving.

As long as you follow the golden rule you can mile out and not feel bad about anything you want.

It's the golden rule just having a giant pile of gold

The hurdle I see is if you buy an electric car for commuting, it is to save on gas. So buying a crazy expensive EV negates that. In the case is that money isn't the main factor, there are a lot of other ICE vehicles that are better for commuting.

Each to thier own of course. If I was commuting a lot each day, the Ioniq 5 or 6 would be top of my list. A Taycan would be for fun.

1st gen Taycans will be "cheap" because of how good the new refresh is. They are depreciating a ton already, and then will crash even more in the next 6-12 months. Just get a CPO one, plus the extended warranty, and you'll have 4-6 years of racking up KMs before the batteries give out. You should go watch some reviews of how good the GTS spec is, it handles on rails compared to the 4 and 4S.

Lotus Emeya takes the crown for fastest charging production car from the Porsche Taycan.

    102kWh battery pack, 379 miles of range, 10-80% charge in 14 minutes @ 400kW.

    Most importantly 905hp / 726 ftlbs AWD, 0-60 in 2.8 sec

As any good tool guy knows, charging lithium batteries in record time is something to worry about, not brag about. I’d sit 2 blocks away vs having a 400 kW fire bomb being under my ass in the car.

    I guess embargo lifted today.

Unfortunately.... current EV is ill suited for the Lotus ethos.

"Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere. Simplify, then add lightness."

    Then there's this thing.
