Not sure if it's a coincidence, but I've seen a lot of the "bolt logistics" vans around the city in the last couple weeks.
I think these are the GMC EV Vans, although I haven't seen a stopped one to get up close to.

EV for last-mile delivery makes a ton of sense to me.

    Brightdrop?

It's built in Ontario after Doug Ford threw $250M at it.

Production stopped last Sep and resumes this month due to lack of batteries. Just like all other GM EV products.

Seems like GM is actually doing quite well with these vans. Production was halted for a while due to battery shortages but seems to be back on track again. 25k pre-orders for these vans so far.

Up to ~400km range and the shorter Zevo 400 comes into the market priced between the Promaster and the Sprinter vans.

GM plans to boost production of the BrightDrop Zevo to 50,000 vehicles annually by 2025 and expects revenues to reach or surpass $10 billion on Zevo sales by 2030.

I see, so I was half right. Be interesting to see how much of the last mile delivery market EV vans can take.

Half right is better than I usually do.

Calgary Service Center is up and running and you can book demo drives.

Still interested to see if they survive 2024/25 to actually get R2 out the door. Money furnace is still going strong.

That said, electric G Wagen is coming.

Keeping up with the Jones' (asian Jones' alternative?) is nefarious there. They don't give a fuck what the 2-3 year outlook is on a vehicle when they'll have a new one by that point.

Vietnamese Dongs is the new Yuan.

And German cars that's not made in China with these badges are common in Richmond AND Calgary. It's easy to ID who to jack.

Lack of EV mechanics is the really interesting part. Gonna need those people when 2035 rolls around.
