A typical 3500 diesel clocks in around 9000 lbs, my 1500 Crewcab 4x4 is around 5600 lbs.

I had just pulled it from this site:
    https://www.waldorfdodge.com/2023-ra...09%2C252%20lbs.

"The 2023 RAM 3500 specs indicate that at its lightest, this truck may come in at 6,056 lbs."

But yeah, it goes onto say "Heavier trims like the 2023 Ram 3500 Limited Longhorn can have a curb weight of up to 9,252 lbs. "

My underlying point is that it is a lot more than like an EV6 or something which is more like 4000~5000 lbs

Yeah the range is pretty impressive at around 500 km. Any idea what is weighs in at for curb weight? I haven't seen it published yet

it has no MSRP or window sticker as of today, can't even sell it if we wanted to.
They priced themselves out with $60K LT, $70K RS, and god knows what they want to charge for SS.

In 2023, before they are on NACS, I'll just buy a Model Y for less and have better out of town charging experience.

Apparently the battery alone in the hummer weighs as much as a Honda Civic.

The F150 Lightning and Cyber truck are something like 9000lbs too.

Lightning is 6,000 - 6300 lbs depending on the battery size. You might be looking at payload

Here are some cool comparison videos of towing with an F150 Lightning VS Silverado EV.

In case you don't have time to watch these videos, Both the F150 Lightning and the Silverado EV towed a 6,500 lb trailer starting with a full charge.
The Lightning only made it about 85 miles before running out of battery, the Silverado EV went over 230 miles.

    Pretty shocking difference in performance

Edit: 0.7 miles/kw on the Lightning
1.1 miles/kw on the Silverado EV

Test drives coming shortly. If you’re into EV garbage I think it’s worth taking a look.

The inoique 5N seems pretty cool for what it is but I still wouldn’t be caught dead in it.

You’re right, my mistake. It is 9000 payload.

Looks like the Hummer has the 9000lb curb weight.

Sitting in my second electric Uber of the day and 2/2 nearly didn’t reach their destination due to charge level.

In the first car it got to the point we needed the AC turned off.

First a polestar and second a Tesla. but yea range anxiety totally isn’t a thing.

Just sounds like an idiot of a driver. Probably the same dimwits that would have their car at E with the gas light on while picking up fares.

Apparently it's a bigger problem with EV cabs than EV personal vehicles because the fast charging kills the battery worse than similar km's with home charging.

I don't understand how am EV cab could ever really be economical but I'm mainly basing that off of the thought that the cabbies making more serious money split their vehicle so it can run ~24hr per day.

    No the economics are solid.

First, as an Alpha generation softie who grew up idolizing Elon, you stretch your credit as far as you can make it go to get into a Tesla. Then after the high interest payments start and reality sets in, you start doing Uber and Lyft in the evenings to make payments.

When you need new tires, you just ask your parents

China only for now but Kia launched the EV5 for $20k. Specs wise it looks pretty crazy, smaller vehicle yet a larger battery meaning huge range.

Kia launches $20K EV5 electric SUV in China to rival Tesla Model Y (electrek.co)

The standard Kia EV5 trim, starting at around $20K, is equipped with a 64.2 kWh BYD Blade battery pack and 160 kW motor, providing up to 530 km (329 miles) CLTC range. The long-range model features an 88.1 kWh battery for up to 720 km (447 miles) CLTC range.
If they could bring it to North America anywhere around the 30-40k mark with the larger battery that would be amazing.

Hyundai releases the 'hot' version of the ioniq 5. Looks like this little thing can really rip. If I wasn't so anti electric cars I'd love it.. I still kind of do

This one is sort of like a hot hatch. There is also an Ionic 6 N coming as well. Same drivetrain, but a lower and more slippery design.

I am really glad that somebody is taking performance EV's seriously.

The whole "lets send an 8000 lb car 0-100km in 2.2 seconds" thing is stupid. Every time somebody hits the gas instead of brake by accident, instead of being able to catch it, it sends Tesla's through storefront windows.
