Wild that phev had that issue. That's removing one of the reasons people want those.

Well I won't paint all PHEV with same brush but from what I have read, Outlander is basically an BEV with an ICE extender. ICE only comes in to aid highway speed and charging. Battery too cold and doesn't want to play ball, you are sol.

There’s a us class action on the outlander. Mitsubishi cheaped out and removed the battery heater, and resistive heater (replaced with heat pump) in the latest model. It’s unusable in the winter. In addition to cold freezing the battery and basically bricking the car, there are massive heating issues. Pre heating does nothing because it won’t kick in the ice. Driving around it also doesn’t kick in the ice so it’s always cold because the heat pump stops working at -10C or some shit.

    Cost cutting gone wild.

    Explains why that's so cheap.

Mitsubishi is also the only maker still selling new cars with the out dated ChaDeMo connector. A decade old connector that everyone’s moved on from.

New app update is handy for seeing the breakdown in usage. Though seems odd it rounds off to whole numbers.

The Macan EV made its global debut in Singapore.
The entry-level variant has 402 horsepower, with a Canadian starting price of 106K. The Turbo edition, starting at 137K , generates 630 horsepower

I can't imagine paying 130K after tax and a few options for an EV that goes 0-60 over 5 seconds.

The Turbo is now basically unobtanium for most people at that price

I agree the Pricing is out to lunch.
I was expecting the Macan 4 to be in line or slightly lower than the ICE GTS for the base price. It is Porsche Pricing what can you say.

Yea I think Porsche made a mistake with the pricing too. Product looks great but the ICE version has lots of value for what you get; bringing in lots of new customers who could never afford a Porsche before. Now you've excluded all these base Macan owners, which could be intended but I don't think they will sell as many EVs as they think.

Live stream was presented in Mandarin and in Singapore for a reason.

Don't think any meaningful volume will be sold outside of China.

I browsed through the recorded Live Stream and it is mostly English.
Maybe they did a simulcast in Mandarin.
But you are correct about the target buyer. Even there was a reference about China being the Biggest Market.

BMW i3 Drivers Hit With $30,000 Repair Bills After Batteries Go Bad

The i8 my friend had went through over $60k in electrical repairs while it was still under warranty. Beautiful car but a monumental nightmare to own.

Sounds like my co-worker’s F-150 Powerboost.

What’s more maddening, however, is that the repairs are often only required after one cell out of the eight that make up the car’s battery goes bad. As such, you actually only need to replace one cell, which costs around $3,500 from a BMW parts center according to CarScoops.
Feels like a dealer issue no?

Cali EV owners is getting pwn'd now have to charge at 35c/kwh.

IE: Model 3 will cost 8c/mile while a Prius will cost 10c/mile at $5/gallon while being 30% cheaper to buy.

That’s nuts. EVs don’t make sense unless you charge at home and have a good use case for them.

Luckily here in ‘Berta, we will be in a decent spot for cheap power in the next 3-5 years.

I saw a Tesla going very slowly into the wind in -20 between Kindersley and Drumheller yesterday. Felt bad for the driver, I’m assuming range anxiety/issues.

Cali has EV plans where you can use your home charger to charge much cheaper during certain hours. 14 cents overnight / 40 cents during evening hours kind of pricing. So most people shouldn't be paying that to charge their cars. Cali as a whole is really expensive for electricity regardless but same goes for fuel.
