1. I had my photos done at LD and no, don't need the actual photogs name. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
2. They didn't ask for proof of travel (South Calgary office)
3. Yes, have read about others that just had hotel booking when they were checking.
Passport applications have dropped a ton, Sept applications are less than half of August. You probably don't need to do the rush application, try walking into a local passport office in the afternoon instead of waiting until your appt on Oct 7 to see if they can process you right away. I did that last week and there were no lines at all.

I mailed my daughter’s passport application in May, I sent an info request in July, I got the old passport and birth certificate back in august. I just got a response to my July inquiry a couple of min ago … saying that it is being processed and it will be mailed shortly …
We just booked a trip in dec … so hopefully no emergency passport for us …
I'm in the same position with my daughter's passport. Mailed it in April, the ex wife phoned to get an update a few weeks ago where she was told they need more information, we faxed that in and now wait. If we haven't seen it by the 14th we have to call again to get it transferred here. We travel at the end of October.
My brother went in person to have his kids renewed about a month ago and got them back in a couple weeks.
Just an update. I mentioned earlier in the thread I walked in with no appointment to drop off the passport applications for both my kids (9/15). I just picked up the passports today at Harry Hays at noon, and there was no one in line. It would've been ready last week but they were too busy truthing and reconciling.
Looks like things are back to normal at least here in Calgary. Wouldn't suggest mailing it in unless you're a long distance from a passport office as that's where all the delays seem to be.

Got the passport yesterday
Did an in person appt in st paul yesterday. If I waited for edmonton appt would have been nov 22.
Going in person definitely helped in our situation because london drugs fucked up the photo. Pretty annoyed because if we had mailed our app we'd be fucked. But there was photog 3 doors down from service canada office so got new pics quickly done.
Now we wait.
Tap, Rack, BANG!
I went and lined up at the Sundance Service Canada on Sept 27th to get both of my kids' passport. I was in the waiting area for about 15 min.
I got their passports on Oct 6th despite them telling me their mail out date is not until the 13th.
I did not read the last few posts but I do know usually, they are not busy between 12-2 pm at the Sundance location in the middle of the week.
Watch the cat for different holiday hats!
Does anyone know the status of passports these days? I need a passport for 10 month old daughter and want to fly out February 1.
i applied in june for both my kids. Came mid dec. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Do not mail. Under any circumstances. Go in this week.
Holy cow, still a backlog? Must be all these federal employees working from home.

Timely post... Have a business trip booked for early Feb and my wife has decided she wants to extend it into a family trip... Is the best bet still to just book refundable flights to expedite the processing?
If you walk in i dont think they care right now. No ticket needed. I did the mail in thing for my kid and got it in 5 months.
But also, walk in to Harry Hayes only, don't try anywhere else. Sucks, but believe me it's faster. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Back in Oct I dropped in to the Sundance location. 30min wait tops. Had passport for our 5yo within the 2 weeks they quoted. Lady at counter said there were no delays for in person drop offs.
Could be better now. Took 5 months to get mine by going to the NE office, plus I didn't get it til the day before I left. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Good news, backlog "almost eliminated"

Wow. Getting government employees to go back to work was that effective?
