You need to show proof of travel.
You can now see estimated walk-in wait times at each location.

I went to line up twice at Sunpark,I got told it was at least 3-4 hour wait already at 8:30. The second time I went, I phoned my wife to tell her it was a no go for me to stand inline because of work. She happened to be on the computer as I was phoning her, and she booked an appointment for 9:10 the next day, so I just did that and I was in at 9 am. Lots of people with camping chairs and what not that had been there for quite some time. Its at least another hour wait once you are inside.
When I was in talking to the lady at the second counter that actually processes, she said it's a lot less busy around 1-3pm at the Sunpark branch. I have to pickup at Harry Hays on the 21st.

Wife went at 130PM last week, took an hour or so. They said there was 86 people in line at 830AM. Sounds like best time to go is mid afternoon, if you can spare the time. We got a rush passport for our infant as travel was within a week. (FWIW)This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
How'd she book an appointment? I keep checking https://eservices.canada.ca/ and a few weeks ago the first available appointment was August 3rd and now it's showing August 12...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That had to be a cancellation you lucked into, soonest appointments even for rush queue are 2 months out now. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yea, they don't even show me dates anymore - just that no appointments are available. Maybe they've put a 2-month limit on the calendar? What a gonger. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
guess you are staying. Welcome back.

Pretty much, thanks. Just spoke with a Canadian woman with a dual-passport child (Canadian & Spanish) who is also struggling to renew the passport. She has time to renew through the Embassy but her problem is that it's been impossible to get photos acceptable to the Canadian government from Spain. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I totally get that as I've had multiple photos rejected - even when I've had them taken in Canada. Foreign photographers don't understand the whole "look miserable, no shadow, no shine, necessary date & stamp" thing, though I'd expect the commies have taken the stick out of their asses a little bit given the backlog.
Looks like I just got lucky with a cancellation, worth watching the screen I guess.
This could explain some of it. When I was at Sunpark, not all of the wickets were staffed.

Front line workers WFH is truly a bold strategy.

Any of you went to line up at Harry Hays recently? Curious if there’s a separate line for express/urgent, and how early one needs to show up.
Also heard paid line waiters are banned now? How are they enforcing that?
Just wanna figure out strategy before taking some time off.

Security walking the line. People need to show passport application. Pictures and name must match your ID.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Traveling to Scotland in July for 10 days, my passport expires in August. Will I get any grief for having an "almost" expired Canadian passport? I looked up the rules and traveling to UK should be fine but wondering if anyone has had a similar experience?
