True could be confused with a Beyond meet in 2001.
Except the fact that there's girls in the Conservatives club.

I was bored and curious so I did the math. If you assume every single ppc vote would have went to CPC instead, 15 seats would have flipped from lib to con. So instead of lib 160/con 119, it would have been lib 145/con 134. Not enough to flip control.

Interesting. Barely enough to get 170 seats for a majority with the NDuhP

So pee pee and his party voted against dental for kids, calling it a government handout.

The guys that's never had a real job in his life, who had a government handout million dollar pension at 30, who gets handed out free dental care for him and HIS family.

    Lol

Coverage was only for low income families. And very limited.

Scary thing, the CBC is right; their core demo does not care.

If an election was held today, I think CPC would have the most votes, but LPC would win seat count.

We are in a weird place where we are facing a recession, but there still is a shortage of workers.

We need things to get so bad that Liberals start considering austerity measures. When they stop throwing money around, that's when the house of cards falls.

The fact that the word "austerity" is even a thing shows the flaw in the reasoning of leftists. Economic growth and health should not be dependent on gov't spending directly into the economy, but rather the gov't performing a limiting number of functions which help unlock the potential of the labor and capital markets.

    Liberal philosophy

Times are good so have room to spend a little more on nice to haves!

Times are bad so we need to spend a little more to help out!

What’s never in their vocabulary, spending less on anything.

Employers always complain that there’s not enough workers. Until they start laying off.

Is that actually true in Canada? It's not in the US. They keep touting this low unemployment number in an attempt to hide the fact we are in a recession. But the labor participation stat is actually low. People are doing so poorly that they're just picking up 2nd jobs and driving the unemployment number down. And people working part time jobs that they can't get by on.

Demography wise we are somewhat screwed. As predicted for years, 'boomer' retirements are coming in at the same time as these shortages. Birth rates have been pretty flat with the exception of millennials.

Immigration has been the only way to bring in workers for some time now. Unfortunately that can comes with its own issues and costs.

Add the fact that more and more women are getting full time careers through the last decades. Most Canadians see having kids as being way too expensive or career restraining.

Unless something changes in birth rates there's not much that will change and we are in for a world of hurt in the next few decades.

Add to that the fact public employment increased a lot over the last several years while private sector decreased.

Yes, this is how gov't make employment #s look better than they should. They are also paying more sometimes just on the fact there's no salary reductions in public sector like in private. It's a one way street on salaries. Not sustainable long term when your #1 employer is gov't.
