    Default Easy hikes for kids

    2022 BUMP
*I didn't start this thread. It got split into a new thread....

I'm looking for some easy, short and easy hikes that kids around 9 years old world tolerate in Canmore.
Please make suggestions from your experience.
    Thanks!

Can’t beat ha ling for the view you get to difficulty ratio.

It’s straight uphill though. Kids won’t find it tough. But dad might.

Grassy lakes is also cool, still uphill but much easier grade. Busy though which to me ruins it.

Johnson lake near Banff is a good starter trail. Not a good photography trail though.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

I looked those up and bad luck - apparently they are both closed for trail maintenance!

You could do a chunk of goat creek trail?

I typically do it on a bike all the way to Banff and back but there is nothing stopping you from going part way for whatever time frame you want then walk back.

Same start point as Ha Ling.

If you think you can make it all the way, one idea is send one person who doesn’t want to hike to meet you in Banff for a pickup. Mom can go get a mani pedi at the springs and drive the dirty boys home.

Also if you want an ultra low key “hike” just park in DT canmore and walk to 3 sisters and back along the bow.

    Killy with some Instagram searches.
    Closed or not for kids.

My vote: Grotto Canyon for kids. Not Hef's kinda grotto don't worry.

There's a nature walk around Canmore too. Wouldn't call it a hike cause no elevaton gain. Bow Bridge/Spur line I think is its name.
Same with Georgetown Interpretive trail. Those are within the town so more of a walk around the natural area of the town.

Most things outside the town quickly turn to big elevation gains.

Heart Creek is a great kids hike, not all the way to Canmore though. Really cool terrain when you climb up above the falls and up to where the creek comes out of a mossy hill.

Killy admitting to riding a bike... the cracks in the facade are starting to show.

It's another left leaning woke disaster social media platform. You don't need it.
