Thought I'd make a poll, because why not.
I guess I should clarify, investments is stocks. Dunno why I didn't just say stocks, day drinking is rough on a guy.

Bought a Condo in 2008, 10 years later that sucker was still worth less than what I’d bought it for. Lived in it a while and eventually married and moved, rented it for 4 years at a loss, dumped it in 2018ish
S&P isn’t even down compared to a year ago and real estate is inarguably at all time highs.
Dafuq are you all doing?
Oh yea. GME and bitcoins lol

I guess it's down from ATHs, but yeah, I sometimes wonder what the hell people invest in.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Investments look like a worse asset class according to the poll, but hey, 4 people claimed to be 89coupe so results are invalid.

I mean i have lost money on select stock investments, but overall I am up.
Overall for life I'm up. I started at zero.

I worded the original question while day drinking. The point was there were different reasons to own different asset classes.
But as originally worded, it looks like people lose money in the market then in housing on a per investment basis. Is it "more" money? Tough to tell.
I voted 89coupe because I'm up overall networth due to both property ownership and stonks. And I literally mean stonks, I never buy anything to hold for more than 6 months to a year unless it pays a dividend.

Yea, I pumped $35k into Russian markets when they went on sale as a bet on low PEs and Commodity strength. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Oops.
I actually still like the bet long-term but it looks like BlackRock is going to fuck me and close the fund, "liquidate" the ADRs, pay me next to nothing, and then continue to hold the underlying Russian equities until the sanctions are removed and they can profit. Wall Street always wins.
