Tap, Rack, BANG!
Are people buying them up now on the theory that it will be harder for the government to take them away from them once they already have them, vs. trying to acquire them later? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They are stopping the sale, but if you already own them you will have a grandfather clause to keep using them... For now. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Pretty obvious this was going to happen. More guns were sold under obama’s 8 years as prez than any other administrationsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Can’t remember the exact number but there are like 20 million registered handguns in Canada. Way more than AR’s.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
At around $1k per pop a buyback would be hella expensive even for Trudeau. Real bad optics too when people are starving from inflation and Trudeau is cutting a $20B check to gun owners. Unlikely to happen.
The bet is that they all get grandfathered, just like the last round of prohibs in this country.
Also you know the cold dead hands crowd.

On the news last night they talked about 1 mil hand guns in Canada but who knowsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The number of people I know with more than 10 guns, who would never surrender a single one of them, is pretty high considering I don't own a single one. Cold dead hands is pretty popular.

Pssh. If the USA has taught me anything, you never want to be the guy with the inferior weapon.
Minigun or nothing.
Cocoa $12,000 per ton.
I bought one today. Impulse spending 700 bucks is no big deal when it won't buy a tank of gas in 2 yearsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
No lineup at my favourite sketchy tiny gun store above lambda supermarket

The fact that they are grandfathering existing handgun owners is a strong indication they understand there is no risk to public safety.

Wow that gun shop is crazy. Haha.
Do they scratch the serial number for you too?

It's even cooler in person. Tiny room above the chinese supermarket jam packed with ammo, taxidermy, and militaria. Been getting ammo from him for a couple years now since he usually beats the big stores

Honestly I've never wanted a pistol until this proposed ban either.
Many rifles... But I will now likely purchase 1-2 in the next year in case grandfathering happens.
This. How the fuck aren't the police required to detail all possible information about guns used in crimes? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Too much data hurts the gun crazies.
From a police work standpoint in a particular case, the source of the gun in the crime is not important beyond "did the criminal purchase it legally".
You don't get extra charges if you bought it from US black market, or Canadian.
Trust me. It's FAR easier to buy a Canadian black market gun here over an American one. No one risks a border crossing for that shit.

This makes me a bit nervous... took my time applying for my license after my test and it could end up being too late. (Sent in a month ago) There is a hand gun that belonged to my Great Grandpa that I am hoping to take posession of. Argh.
