    Default Taking the Leap; Building an Arcade Machine

    So no photos yet, but will fill this with some build photos. Should complete over the next 6 weeks.

    Coles;
    * Cab will be a 4 Player, with trackball (2 x 6 button; 2 x 4 button)
    * PC based (arcade-one), without any Pi nonsense.
    * Suzo Happ buttons, & sticks
    * iPAC 4, u-Trak Trackball
    * Finished, stained plywood, with a stainless kickplate
    * 65" ProScan LED, vertically mounted @ 4:3
    * Logitech 200w 2.1

    Question; anyone used Hyperspin to centre portrait display at 4:3, but also have a top display digital marquee?

    I have always loved these builds. Was going to build one myself during covid, but at the time I went down the youtube rabbithole of building a virtual pinball machine, and built it instead. I also have mame on the pinball cab, but I don't use hyperspin. There are tons of facebook groups on these virtual game cabinets, I would check there.

    I thing I would look into is upgrading the joysticks. I am not sure if the newer generation arcade one's have upgraded their hardware, but in the older gens, the 8 axis sticks weren't all that great. I haven't done any research in to the Suzo sticks, but good you are thinking about it.

    Nice build!

    ArcadeOne supplies the pc only. I chose my favourite sticks, in Suzo Happ’s.

    Did you build the cabinet from scratch or from a kit?

    Nope being built by a fella that builds these as a hobby out of his garage. (not a kit)

    Should the thread be renamed 'Taking the leap; buying an arcade machine' ?

    If you’re especially pedantic, for sure. It’s his first foray into a bigger machine, and I help with technical assembly — not the carpentry and panel wiring. (He was building golden tee, shooters, and simple 2 players previous, with Pi.) Used a third fella for the wood cuts, and I purchased all the materials — to ensure I got exactly what I want.

    Anyone using Sinden guns?
