Wait, so this is like the 100% bailout tax on losses from the ON/QC-based auto and aviation sector but in reverse, right?

Canadian O&G managed to stay afloat and now bail themselves out and society wants them to pay?!

I wish it could be as simple as, door to door survey, "do you support Canadian oil and gas?"
If you answer, "no". The gas man turns the valve.

You are talking about people who think a negotiated sliding scale royalty framework with payout provisions is a subsidy.

Is this where the "the government subsidizes oil and gas!" argument comes from?

I always hear it, but nobody is able to demonstrate what they mean.

If it is the royalty system, its actually a dumber argument then I thought it already was.

Those are the words that came out of Horgan’s mouth a few weeks ago.

    So I would say. Yes.

More money to the gov is fine if it reduces taxpayer burden. If we are just adding to gov coffers, why bother?

Arbitrary kleptocracy makes for an excellent business investment environment.

We just need laws to prevent profits at all. That'd fix things.

The problem is that Canadians are idiots who don’t understand quite how much of their prosperity is tied to the proceeds of successful corporations and capital investment in projects, particularly resource projects, here.

Canadians are deluded into thinking our backwards little diasporic society and lives are far more valuable than reality.

I bet you the average Canadian thinks their Walmart budget and tourism dollars would keep the country afloat. Comical.

I want nothing to do with Canadians. Albertans and Saskatchewaners I can handle. Some parts of BC.

Every tax is really a Success Tax on some level.
But I see how an additional tax is warranted to leave a political legacy.

    .
I did laugh out loud when on the news Toronto's Mayor (speaking about the backlog and lines at the airport) called Toronto the driver of Canada's economy.

Super Successful tax. Make the person feel blessed to pay it.

TPiM and I are starting a new party.
    Successful Sapiens of Canada Party.
There's a buy-in requiring lifelong top ups but the prestige of being part of the Successful Sapiens far out weighs the costs.

I wouldn't say Canadians in General. The majority certainly aren't voting for this sort of nonsense. Unless you're using the same definition of "Canadian" that the current Federal government does, Which is just a citizen from Toronto or Montreal.

Then admit that Lots of idiots vote conservative too.

Trust me. The majority of Canadians are complete morons
