With allstate for the last 3-4 years. Their home insurance was like 50% cheaper when I made the switch, auto was pretty well inline with other providers.

Well, received a quote from another broker through Allstate.
56% cheaper on home for equal coverage and 32% on the vehicles.

    Officially switching from Touchstone.

I went with Nadir Sunay 587-775-4000, might be an actual broker for Allstate? Unsure.
He came highly recommended from many people within the Airdrie Dad's network.

I've been with touchstone for probably 10 years now as I was getting overcharged by AMA. Starting to shop around now and not be complacent as I'm thinking the savings are no longer there with how expensive my policy is for a car/condo coverage. Zero at fault claims and paying $255/month for a 2013 Acura TL and my condo coverage seems steep.

I'll have to call Inova (through Costco) to confirm, but the initial online quote they gave me was $127.00/month for my car/condo wtf

I do agree that the customer service/responsiveness with Touchstone has generally been good, but if I'm being overcharged by $1,500+ for the same annual coverage I'll have to switch.
We have been with Inova (Costco) for years for both home and auto. We’ve had 2 auto claims and both went smooth and no complaints. Last year was my first hail claim for my home so nothing to compare it too but repairs to our house was done way before most of our neighbours. Our home insurance went up $110 this year come renewal, auto insurance has been around 180-200 for the last several of years( policy for both my wife and I)The shitty part is if you need to get ahold of them to change your policy, wait times are terrible and they are based out east so I never call them past 2PM. The app is no different, response times takes forever. We pay just below $500/ month for a truck, car and home.

What’s the deal with Sonnet? I matched, for the most part, apples to apples.

    2021 Venza
Intact $1935 last year, $2184 this year
    Sonnet $1278

    House
Intact $1822 last year, $2161 this year
    Sonnet $1397

    $4345 vs $2675
    38% savings

    Thoughts on sonnet?

Less to do with sonnet, more to do with intact, perhaps?

The personal quoted me ~$2400 for wife’s Lexus and our house, vs $3900 with intact.

My car and condo renewal is up with Touchstone/Intact. Its just over $1800.
    Belaire quoted me $1458.
I did a quote on Intacts website, the cheapest I got a condo and auto was $1747.
I cant even get a quote with Sonnet. A 2021 Honda CRV does not come up on the drop down menu. Weird.
    Cooperators quoted me over $2200.
Allstate just for the car is $1824..
Economical came close with $1356 just for the car. Only $100 more than Belaire.

    Might be leaving Touchstone sadly...

With the Government's announcement back in Jan about freezing auto insurance for the year, I got my renewal from TD and its increased, albeit not as much in previous years but it did increase - can an insurance representative on this forum explain why that is? I tried talking to TD and they indicate that the date the policy was being renewed used newer rates and was before the cap - I'm like I don't understand what you are saying my renewal is in April and we went back and forth but I'm still confused.

Someone I know, the home insurance went up 16%
Reason said was increased costs for repair on any insurance claims.

I suspect the same for auto too. Look at used market when someone takes a Payout for a writeoff, insurance has to pony up for replacement, market value.
Also insurance never loses the game.

I'm enjoying the savings from everyone WfH for 2 years and not getting in any accidents. It's been super nice how the insurance companies passed that... Onto...

I could explain all the details and angles on why the government announcement was nothing more than farcical politicking but frankly I'm not going to type out three pages. It would take a few plates of wings and several jugs of beer to explain the real details of how everything works but the short answer is that the government's actions are nothing more than the proverbial "closing the barn door after the horse is gone".

It's the season where I price-check my current provider. Going to give "the personal" through apega a shot. Any other suggestions on agents or providers?

I'm currently with TD for home + auto. They are raising my home premium 20% upon renewal.

The Personal (without apega) gave me a quote 2x higher than what I pay for home. Belair Direct was 50% cheaper on the home and slightly cheaper on auto so I switched to them.

Did you go through a broker or got a quote from Belair Direct?
