Wedding catering cost from $27 per person to $39.
Isn't that down right cheap? Or the venue cost is on top?

Don't invite poor miserly people, and let them know the menu beforehand. Most guests can get that idea.

I had a late night seafood buffet, and still did ok.

All other costs are on top. This is just for a meal only.

It was $130/head at a golf course a decade+ ago. And booze was extra. Heck even Chinese wedding banquet is almost $100/head these days.

And almost impossible to find any decent lunch under $20 these days except for fast food.

Then Hotdog buffet with a toppings center.
Maybe the Cdn Tire street meat vendor can cater it. Cdn Tire closes at a reasonable time on weekends for him to get to your venue.

We obviously have too much disposable income, demand up, so prices up.

They'll try and fix that by raising interest rates. My Mortgage will cost me another $1000 per month, so I'll have to bag lunch instead of eating out.

    "Problem" solved.

The only thing I noticed that is really expensive is lumber still. The rest is par for the course.

I know food has jumped like 100% in the last 2 years, but damn it really hit home when I used the self checkout today. 6 oranges, almost 13$. 2$ for a single orange seemed ridiculous. The thing is I couldn't tell you what an orange costed a year ago, or ever for that matter.

Makes you wonder what formula they use for inflation calculation? The main things you need to live, Food, housing, gas, utilities. All up like 30-50% on average....................... Inflation.... 8.6%

I've been meaning to talk to my Dad about this. He survived the early 90's, I remember my parents always being broke as shit, and doing everything they could to squeeze a dollar out of the grocery bill. I was wondering how long it took his job to cough up the massive pay hikes to even out inflation. Crazy that I'm here in the exact same full circle situation 30 years later. And that it was all orchestrated by the last idiots kid.

Comrade Broadcast Company said that AB had the lowest inflation in part to the Safeway fuel codes dropping of some gasoline taxes.
