Yeah McDs has monetized changes. My kid put like $2. 75 worth of extras on a plain hamburger.
Ah this is why people beat their kids. I understand now.

Sticking with the Wendy's theme, spicy chicken wrap used to be on the $2.49 value menu, now its $2.99
Spicy chicken burger used to be $3 in 2018, now it's $6.49

No, it wasn't, really. I was a long time Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich consumer, and the only time it was less than $5 was a special deal, or in 2004.

Yea they had that special deal coupon that I would keep in my car. The employees never took it from me or asked to see it and would still do the deal LONG after it expired.

Yeah, because it was a temporary deal, just like in 2018. You can't use a sale price as a baseline for inflation comparison. Unless they come out with a $5 Spicy Chicken deal next January

Sorry for the FB links, but that's where they advertised the deals.

Inflation transfers wealth to the rich from the poors and has the added benefit of reducing the value of dollars gov needs to use to pay back prior debts. I'm sure you know this and your question is rhetorical, but the answer is surely never.

. Part of the reason I'm back in school, there is no way my current middle class income would keep up with inflation and recessions. I used to say $100k of my generation was the $60k of a generation before me. Well fuck, in not even a decade it became $150k pretty quick.

I remember spinach used to be dirt cheap; fresh bread was also 2-3$.

Now it's $5 for good bread.

Really shows the impact of inflation when Beyond is debating a $3 vs $5 vs $6.5 chicken sandwich
