Front entrance looks good but that pattern hurts my brain. Also with your snowblower ensure you have a few extra shear pins on hand because snow can be brutal on snowblowers and you'll be in the middle of clearing snow and lose a pin and then stuck.
Yah, I'm not 100% convinced I like the siding myself to be honest, it came out how I expected it, but at the same time, depending on lighting, I either like it a bit, or like it a lot haha, so yah...we will see, will grow on me, it has to....for the price I paid for it and the effort I put in

Regarding the shear pins, I heard about those, but was under the assumption those blow if you catch a rock or something, but not a bad idea anyways. Never had a snow blower....first time ever using it will be the first real snowfall (probably not today..let it melt)

Really like the front entrance. Simple, functional, stylish. Approved.

Heavy wet snow can break shear pins. There purpose is to basically save the machine if it gets jammed or has issues.

Since you seem to be an expert in the field....are shear pins kind of universal, or do I have to go to Kubota to buy them (pain the ass, far away)

Nah shear pins can be used from anywhere. Just match up to what you have and keep a couple extra. People like to use bolts for shear pins which can work in a pinch, but shear pins are designed to break when under tension.

Pretty much universal but you will need the size (usually standard, not metric) and the length. Don't forget the nuts.

Awesome, thanks. I actually just called Kubota and got all the info I needed, and the guy said the same thing, just match the specs and you are good to go, don't need to be a Kubota part, so will try to track some down locally, and failing that, order online. The two Kubota dealers are so far away from me...that I much rather not make the trek for some bolts! Thanks for the tip. I am sure it will save me a ton of frustration should one break mid-plow.

Trying to find a good source that isn't middle of no-where. Lots of online stores don't mention specs, so just looking around now. If anyone knows a local store that could stock appropriate selection would be great. Need 5/16 x 2 1/4 GR5 bolts. Seems like online sometimes you get the dimensions, but not the grade, and if you get a grade 2 bolt, you will be replacing them all the time as they are too weak, or a GR8 bolt which may not shear and cause damage instead. Trying not to wreck a very expensive blower, and yah, was thinking of buying 10 or so of them. They are $4.63 each at Kubota, might just end up making the drive and picking up there.

Those seem like just bolts, ones that I saw and match the kubota part number have a groove in them to actually define the shear line. I will keep looking.

Try UFA. At least they will know what you are talking about. They should have them. Any agricultural dealer will know what you need.

Just a little update. Been out of town for business last week, and on training all this week, but did get my RO system all installed and running. Was fun....crawling through a small hatch to get to the point in the attic where I had to make a split and Tee off. My initial planning failed to account for the fact that RO systems require a drain, so I had to improvise where the system is installed, while still being serviceable and close to where it is needed in the kitchen.

Ended up installing it just inside the hatch in the pantry, so can easily swap out the water filters and service the system as needed. Currently it's only hooked up to the fridge, but I do have a conduit to my kitchen island and will be making that connection down the road, as I have to destroy my temporary kitchen to gain access to where I need to gain access too, and not ready to do that for a while still.

Wife and I went out for our first trip down to the flooring store to pick out some flooring. Picked up some samples, but weren't too happy with them, so will be getting more tonight and making the decision/purchase next week. Found out about a new category of flooring called called "Loose Lay" (new to me at least), and might just go with that. Basically it's a system that uses heavy tiles with grippy backs to lay without applying any glue, or rather glue just around the parameter. They are a bit thicker (5MM) than standard glue-down (3MM), but provide some impact absorption and if I don't like them just laying, can also be glued down, so kind of best of both worlds. Can layout the entire floor...and then glue it down later if I want to.

Regarding the shear pins, ended up going to Kubota and picking them up. Apparently the size I need are somewhat rare, most are too long or too short, so got like 10 from Kubota while there, as well as a few for the fan blade.

Let us know how you like the HERO RO system. I've got zero experience with RO but I am looking at a "whole house" filtration solution for our cabin on well water(just one fixture/tap). I was thinking just a simple 2 or 3 stage filter system, but maybe i should be looking at RO ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So your entire cabin only has 1 single fixture, no showers ect?

This localized RO system is good to produce like 75 gallons per day, but you only get a couple of gallons at a time, depending on the size of your storage tank. It takes about an hour to fill an empty tank. It's really not designed for purifying all water you use, it's mostly just for drinking water and making ice in a fridge, or having a little fill spigot next to your normal water. If you use it to make ice, or just drink water, you won't run out, as it continuously strives to have a full tank, so the moment you use some, it starts to fill more.

If you are washing dishes or anything else, you need just basic filtration system (in my case, a few pages ago it shows my FOK system), which can run in line continuously and filter water as you use it, no storage tank required. If you have money to burn, you can get a whole house RO ($10k+) and it will be a big version of the HERO system, and hold all water in a big tank, and then you will be taking showers/washing dishes ect with clear filtered drinking water. I think whole house RO is a waste of money personally, too expensive and expensive to maintain, and if you undersize it, you won't have water to take a shower. RO takes time to create water, not just a flow-through filter.

I went with the HERO system because it's ultra efficient. Not that I terribly care on well water, but a typical RO system drains 3-4 gallons of water for every 1 gallon it produces...kind of a waste, whereas HERO injects this "waste" water back into the water line (downstream of the RO system) and then it can be used for washing dishes/showers ect, instead of just going down the drain. Because it injects water back in, it's a bit more complex to setup than standard wasteful RO system, as you need to feed water back in at least 10 ft away from where the RO inlet, or you have to install a maxing tank to mix new water with "waste" water to dilute it.

Anyways, glad to elaborate or answer any questions if you have any more, I enjoy to share.

Thanks for all the detail! Yep the cabin is rustic and has a vanity sink and a kitchen sink. No indoor toilet, but we do have outdoor shower & laundry. I'm thinking something under the kitchen sink for drinking water. Probably just an activated carbon filter, maybe a 2 stage thing. RO seems like a lot of complexity for a place where I am shitting in the woods

I built my system based on my water test that I got when I bought the house and they tested the well water, but it really depends on your water. Any filtering is better than no filtering, so you can decide. Due to the chemical composition of my well water, RO was the only thing that was going to make good drinking water.
