I guess the complaints were low enough that they haven't bothered to sue until now.

Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
Chuck Robbins is the ceo of Cisco.
Onur “Ron” Aksoy - isn't...
Cisco didn't sell these, the CEO of cisco didn't sell these. Some scammer sold lots of "refurbished" stuff made to look like newer Cisco shit.
Did you even read it?
Lol, do you need to ask that question? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Its in first quarter of the story...Allegedly, Aksoy imported tens of thousands of fraudulent Cisco devices from China and Hong Kong. He then created at least 19 companies in New Jersey and Florida, dubbed the “Pro Network,” to help him resell the hardware as genuine through the e-commerce sites.
Yeah sorry, badly worded title.
Still, Cisco must have known that there were counterfeits running around. Noone bothered to ask, noone really noticed the difference, and noone really cared.
Personally I would have just let it continue to slide as long as there were no complaints. Counterfeit doesn't necessarily mean lesser in the year 2020. If they took the $1 Billion worth of routers off the market, it would simply mean slower or no internet for more people around the world.
Its really at the point of whether its coffee beans Arabica or coffee beans Robusta, when the machine doesn't care about taste and only uses the caffiene when a robot drinks its coffee.
Admittedly, some say that sales are more important than R&D nowadays.

People in the know cares. Shaw got fucked up by this at least a decade or so ago. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
But now that most Cisco gear from official channels has a 1year+ wait list, I'm surprised there isn't more counterfeit floating around channels. Especially used gears.
