Canada pays so much less than the US does for radio and TV broadcasting that it's a wonder that anyone would choose to make a career out of it in this country. Terrible hours of work for below Canadian average salary so it just doesn't make a lot of sense to pursue a career in the field. You can understand why Boomer and Pinder would have pulled the pin as it's not like radio is an industry that's just in a temporary slump or anything as it's in a full death spiral maybe a decade behind newspapers. Best to get out and find a new career rather than ride that out to its end.

They will definitely be missed on my morning drives to work, but as previously mentioned they are planning a podcast with a third person, just haven't heard who that person is. Not a huge podcast guy, as I usually don't have the time to sit and listen to the whole thing.

While part of this change is certainly family, writing was on the wall with the Vancouver sports radio station closing and apparently Calgary had the highest salaries for morning sports shows in Canada. I believe there is also something with the NHL radio rights changing as well, but don't know anything about that part. I would assume things will get going before September and hockey season since that seems to be the focus.

I basically on heard that morning show as a podcast anyway, so shouldn't be tough for me to listen if it's any fun.
