    Default Samsung Screen Replacement

Search pwns me, couldn't see any recommendations here!

    Anyone had this done recently?

Never had to do this before but wife, child and animals have knocked my phone off surfaces that were so out of the way its not even funny

Do the little kits off amazon suffice or is there somewhere to do a more "pro" job?

Nowhere specific I'd reccomend, but lots of places in Calgary. Search "cellphone screen repair" and pick one of those.

I remember taking mine to one place on 16th near Peter's Drive In. They did it quickly and had no issues with it afterwards.

I used a kit off Amazon for my wife's old iPad. It did the job, but next time I think I'll bring it to a pro.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

I've done many iPhones but tried to do a galaxy s7 and busted new screen. It was as thin as tinfoil. Plus they are all glued together good now to make them water proof.

There is a place in Sunridge Mall near the food court who are a Samsung authorized repair depot. You could give them a try.

Went to a couple of places, ranged from $399+GST (MobileKlinik, Samsung Authorised Repair Centre) to $668+GST (Samsung themselves by courier)

Screen itself is about $300 to buy

So fucking mad, I literally just paid out my upfront tab as well which was $416, figured since I never break phones and this one was working great I'd get another 2 years out of it

    Is it worth repairing this? It's a 2020 S20 Ultra 128gb

I don't need the latest and greatest model, might need to see if Rogers will do anything for me

I use eBay as a proxy for price. Kinda seems like it's not.

Are the Galaxy A-Series Samsungs any good?

Only ever had Galaxy S or Note since the S4 and have loved them all

Not interested in an iPhone but are there any other android units that would be a good bet without breaking the bank?

It's my personal opinion that samsung is the worst android, and the cheap samsungs are slow because of bloatware on top of normal android.

For cheap ones, Moto has a good rep, and I'm a Pixel guy these days. How cheap is cheap to you?

I would avoid the Pixel 6. There are some issues with both mine and my wife's. Hers was actually replaced under warranty due to shutting down, screen not responding to touch, alarms not working intermittently, etc. Mine hasn't been as bad, but there are times when things don't work right away.

I never had any issues with any of my Samsung's over the years. My last one was a Note 9 that I had zero issues with.

    Damn, price was good too!

So for a fast Samsung you need to buy a flagship...grrr

I barely do anything on my personal phone other than take some pix and browse Insta/Twitter, hardly even call or text on it

My pixel 6 has been great so far. My pixel 2 had charge port going bad and got a warranty replacement very stress free from Google.

I'll agree. I was a Samsung phone owner since the days of flip phones. Great quality and lasted. Then I broke a screen that bled out. Fixes on Samsung's aren't cheap but they're pushing the tech. New flip phone screen is crazy but when the tech breaks, you done.

I haven't broken a screen in a long time, and when I did it was on my BLU phone so no replacement available. Naturally was not a work phone because I was unemployed at the time.

Last phone I "broke" was my iPhone 3GS, which was just a small crack on the back cover

Since then I had a Galaxy S4, S5, S7, Note 8 and none of them got busted up....

Z-Fold with samsung care plan ftw?

Android guy here as well, no help on the screen replacement but currently using a google pixel 5 and its been good. Had a variation of samsung galaxy / one plus / google phones all previous and no complaints about any of them.
