Default Help me pick a switch

Looking at these two and aside from being plastic vs. metal I can't really determine what the differences are. Prefer unmanaged since I don't know much about this stuff, just something reliable and fast.

Found out the house is roughed in with cat5e, I just need to terminate the ends in the mechanical room and install a switch.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

I was in the same boat and know equally little about networking. I went with the D-Link (option 2) at a recommendation from a friend in the networking business.
He gave me reasons why #2 was better, but I wasn't really listening. But I have #2 in my house and it works.

Dunno why they said it’s 400 bucks when it’s actually 630.

Unmanaged is good for simplicity but if you start adding a lot of crap to your network a managed switch is the way to go and you can get a lot of used ones for a good deal.

I have a older 48 port Aruba switch that has SFP ports so I can do 10Gb networking in my house. It also allows me to segregate my network so my home automation stuff doesn't share the same traffic as the rest of my equipment.

I've seen sudden price increases after a youtube video or product review generates huge interest.

I can imagine it will drop back down to whatever it is worth when its on more than a couple storefronts on Aliexpress.
