Funny interaction with a dealership recently. My brother's TRX finally gets delivered and we go to pick it up and I see a Wrangler 392 sitting. Take it for a spin and talk to them about trading my Grand Cherokee for it. 392 to is marked up obviously. Today comes back with some numbers and I ask what is the trade value attributed to my Jeep?

Sales guy's response, "our appraisers don't tell us the exact number unless they know the deal is going through for sure, but it will be good and on the higher side of what we discussed initially". LOL

I tell the guy the dealership is a joke and he should find a better place to work at. He replies saying he agrees and has been looking at other options as some practices of the place makes people think they are scamming them.

    Fucking idiots.
This was actually pretty common years ago when I was looking for trucks and it was definitely super scammy. That's disappointing to hear they are still doing that.

Really hated what this pandemic has done to all of us, was comfortably leasing a new car every 3 years and if I was to do the same thing this year it would cost me an additional 17-19k in financial obligation without discount to lease the same 60k car/price range. While I can certainly afford it if I choose too I really feel for those who are paycheck to paycheck, how on the world do you survive now? God save our wallet please..
This is my favorite comment yet.

'I can't believe what this pandemic has done to us' expecting something to do with politics, anti vaxxers, or any of the hundreds of things that have popped up over the last few years.

But the real reason, is that it has really affected your ability to lease a new lexus is300??

TRX is fuckin sick! Your experience sounds about on par with the car purchasing experience now and the fact its a dodge dealer

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

It‘s so bad, Chrysler especially but while we were shopping around it was really no different with Infiniti, Honda, Toyota and VW, in Calgary. The wife eventually decided on a Jeep GCL and we went to St. Albert, one email to our contact there and he gave us 3 options to choose from, they beat every number presented to us by the Calgary dealerships. @shakalaka if you’re set on a stellantis product I can forward you our contacts info.

Rumor of this new car story.
Toyota truck on order, came into dealership didn't get called to grab it.
Guy found his exact vehicle on an auto trader ad by the dealer for $5k more than his agreed price.
He called out dealer on it and they had excuses like, it just arrived. Congrats!

Nothing specific necessarily that I was looking at Chrysler wise. Just thought it was such a fucked up response and all my years of buying vehicles, never did I hear someone say, we don't say the exact value of your trade unless we know we have a deal? Haha...what.

I like Chrysler dealerships. Went into one to check out the Pacifica and it was the best car browsing experience I’ve had in a while. They work harder cuz their cars don’t sell themselves haha.

People who worked there in 1993 are likely dead by now.

Im sure that happened to a ton of people between all the dealerships. I was in Charlesglen toyota in the summer and they had a 2020 explorer and a newish mustang in there so i asked the guys wtf and they literally have no new inventory to even put in the show room

We went to Canyon Creek this summer and they had 0 vehicles in the showroom, and maybe 5 new Toyota's to test drive. It was shocking.
