Big sky BBQ Okotoks - always a wait?

So, I have heard good things about rhe Big Sky BBQ place in Okotoks. I have tried to bet food there twice on the way back from stuff out that way. Always a several hour wait. Last time was estimated 90 minutes to get table, and they told me probably another hour after that for food. I did not remain to see of they were correct.

Is it just always like that on the weekend? Does it help to call 2 hours ahead and just take your shit to go?

Need to pick something up in the afternoon on mother's day, but can't be fucking around with a long wait. Should I give up on that place or what?

Went last summer and didn't wait, just grabbed 2 tables right away. Though we also went mid-afternoon and it was nearly full when we left for the dinner rush.

Maybe I just choose premium times? I am a north guy so it's not like I'm down there often. Twice to be exact and failed to get food both times.

My wife says once was father's day, which is likely part of the issue.
The other would be a summer Sunday around 4:30pm.

If there's a swarm of bikers there, plus parking lot full, I can see a wait. With that being said, they did just slap another extension into their South wall. It's a huge place.

That being said, its pretty typical bbq, nothing special.

Wednesday from May 1- late Sept is biker night. Stay away if not riding.
Weekends are a roll of the dice. If the Suns out the place will likely be packed. We've always done a Mon, Tues or Thurs to be safe.

Will visit Jane bond one day. But they are not open Sundays at all so not that day.
