    Default Identify SPIDER Please

Should I kill this? Is it an invasive species? What the fuck is it?
It's really big. Larger than a bumble bee.

Cross Orb Weaver. Not venomous, but still deserves to burn.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Yes, I think that's pretty certainly it. I'm really surprised I've never seen one of these.
    Thanks!

They eat all the bad bugs so you definitely want them.

Side note, has anyone else noticed a massive uptick in spiders this year?
I've seen some of the biggest I've ever seen in Alberta this year.

    Yes.

We get our house/yard sprayed cause they’re so bad. Hadnt seen a spider the last 2 summers. This year they are everywhere despite getting the yard sprayed.

I've noticed less around my house this year. Which means they're just getting better at hiding.

Ya we have a ton of those orb weavers around my house. Wife calls them berthas cus they're huge bitches. They can't keep up with the canal bugs and we don't like walking into their webs so we spray every so often., doesn't help much.

Sometimes I’ll just spray underneath my patio furniture and like 20+ of those mofos will fall out

We had one of these orb weavers a few years ago, it started to stretch a web from our fence to our deck (probably an 8' gap) and we discovered it by walking into it. It only had a couple strands across, and it was like walking into a clothesline. Like there was visible resistance when you pushed on it, like someone stretched fishing line across the path. We got rid of that guy and haven't seen any since, but I'm sure there are others being more stealthy.

One year, I had a spider that hung out on one of the garage door pillars, it caught a of mosquitos, thing is many of them had blood in them so I ended up with blood spots on the siding.
