    Default Garage Car Lift

    Hello,

I have been looking to get a lift in the garage, have checked out Lift King. Looking at the 4 post to park my summer cars, anyone have one? Pros and cons that one should consider, any other suppliers that you would recommend.

I have a bendpak HD-9XW that I bought through babco. It's fantastic. I went with the 120v motor, which is slower, but for the amount of times I go up and down with it, it's not really a hardship. I should have bought the trolley jack as I find it a bit frustrating now that I'm doing suspension work and need to jack on the lift.

Atlas is a Canadian built lift. I have this one because it goes extra high if you want to put a full size truck under, yet it's not too deep or wide, leaving room in front of the lift. It's 120v too, but draws a hair over 15amps, meaning you may have to upgrade your garage breaker as it will trip a standard 15 amp breaker 1/2 the time.

Ps, I paid $5k as I found it on Kijiji, with all the accessories (drip trays, wheels to move it, wheel chalks, etc). Keep your eye on kijiji.

Lift King will often trip a 15A breaker, as well.
My friend works on cars on a Max Jax and he's very pleased with it.

I am going to get a 2 post Lift King when I'm ready for it, but I think I saw some 4 posts advertised in Princess Auto, probably all made in the same factory in China.

I have a Liftking Pro 8 being installed this Friday, I went with it because they claim you can use the dollies with your car on it.

I paid $5500 and that includes delivery/ install and a pump/motor relocate. They were really good to deal with at time of purchase but claimed 5 weeks for shipping, as of next week we are into week 15. I fully expected delays but there was zero updates for them which was a bit disappointing

Lots of good deals popped up since I put my deposit down so I hope I made the right call. I may have also purchased a used Lifting 10K 2post also as a back up off Kijiji lol

Awesome! I am excited, like I said the only thing I found odd was then quoting 5 weeks and then when that date passed I got zero follow up.

I expected a delay of some sorts so its not the end of the world. Some people maybe in need of something quicker so it always helps to get an accurate delivery timeline. I would imagine lots of people pull their deposits in frustration. One of the installers at LK told me some of the more specialized lifts are still on back order from dec orders. I work with a garage door company on some projects and they are quototing 36-40 weeks on some doors and knowing that delay at the start allows us to pre order or select a different door.

The bolts aren't under much stress in that design.

Looks like liftking now carries single post lifts as well. Goes for 7.5k which doesn’t seem too crazy compared to a 4 post.

Can’t remember. But don’t those single posts have a foot underneath the vehicle?

Thanks for the info guys, I will have to look at getting my garage opener relocated which is shitty because I just moved into a new house in June. Wish I had the option or remembered to get the side mount opener. Anyone have that done before their lift was installed? If so how much did it run you?

There is ways to avoid a side mount if you want. Can raise tracks and use your regular opener by adding a dummy panel I did this first. Side mounts aren’t hard to install and I did one myself too so don’t let it scare you. My lift is a direct lift and no concerns as well and has been amazing.
