Default Diagnose my washing machine: Draining, mostly, sort of.

So, I could use a little help diagnosing an issue with the clothes washing machine. It's a Front-loading Kenmore He5T, bought around 2009.
The drum drains well, clothing comes out as dry as it should after a spin/drain cycle. No issues there. (see thumbs up picture).

But inside the front seal, there is water that is not draining. That area is supposed to be dry. Previously if this issue occurred (and it has), I have run a bleach-only cleaning cycle, and everything is good.
I have checked the pump filter / sock trap / lint trap and that is clean as a whistle. That has had no effect.

    Suggestions?

The drain holes in those belly seals usually get clog with wet lint which turns into paper mache. Worse comes to worse replace that silicon belly seal.

One of the grosser rentals since ain’t no tenant got time for that shit to clean em

Thanks Tomco, didn't realize the drain holes were RIGHT THERE so I have poked around in them, pulled out some gunk, and will run an additional cleaning cycle and report back.

Yeah I learned that those holes arent actually 'drains' per say but just a way for water to go from the seal back to the main compartment. Mine always gets jammed up with pet hair and other nonsense and those holes have to get cleaned every now and then. The drain part under the drum is the one you need to really worry about.

There’s your problem. You have the dishwasher too close to the clothes washer.

@TomcoPDR you win brother. Kid came home from camp, so that washer was getting a workout. Zero issues. Very happy, so simpo.

The seal is considered a wear item, they do need to be replaced every few years. You usually don't have to remove the front panel to replace it however.

No issues with the seal, did not need to remove or replace in this case. The drain holes on my model are in the hard plastic behind the seal and not in the seal itself. Might be worth buying a new seal to keep around the house anyway though.

If you clean it with a rubber or vinyl conditioner, I've got to think it prolongs its supple life.

On my last set the seal cracked and we got a bit of a drip but it was over a year backorder for the part. Every month when I called for an update on the parts I paid for I was told it was pushed another month. After 9 months of that I canceled it and just left a note for the guy who bought our house. Find one before you need it. It was only like $80-100 if I remember correctly.
