It's for the US only in 2025 as a trial. No way this happens.

You're underestimating the stupidity of man. There's no small amount of people who pay no attention to small details like the price of something. They don't even look at their back accounts on a regular basis.

Honestly I'm even guilty of it in drive-thru's. I barely glance at the screen at the order speaker (if it's even showing my order, which most of the time it doesn't), and then they just shove the POS machine towards me with an unlit LCD screen, so I don't see the number there either and I just tap my card and get my coffee. They could have charged me $100 for it, and I wouldn't notice until I look at my online banking a few days later.

    Never heard of it.

Really though, 99.9% of the time I go in. Hate idling the vehicle for nothing, especially in this climate crisis.

The idea is actually pretty good in term of staffing if they can actually spread the load out.

But implementation is probably going to be nightmare.

"Wendy's will not implement surge pricing, which is the practice of raising prices when demand is highest. We didn't use that phrase, nor do we plan to implement that practice," the company said in an email to The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Wendy's Co. plans to invest about $20 million to launch digital menu boards at all of its U.S. company-run restaurants by the end of 2025. It also plans to invest approximately $10 million over the next two years to support digital menu enhancements globally.

Wendy's said that its digital menu boards "could allow us to change the menu offerings at different times of day and offer discounts and value offers to our customers more easily, particularly in the slower times of day.
    So much for that.

It's not surge pricing, just no coupons when we are busy.

Are you talking about the small, chewy cube ones? Fuck, I think the last time I saw one of those was when I was trick or treating!
    They were delicious.
    (2 weeks later...)

Yeah, absolutely. But don't be fooled - there are many knockoffs. Only the Kraft ones have that creamy taste while the knockoffs just taste like sugar and wax or something.

They're delicious - regrettably, the work staff may have to soon settle for Werther's Originals. And frankly, nobody really WANTS a Werther's Original candy until they hit half a century.

Plus, you only choke severely on about 40% of Worthless Originals. How are they legal?!

Is that the one that makes you pay extra to use a cart lol

Says a lot about their clientele.

You get the loonie back when you return the cart.

I don't mind the principle, since people are lazy pieces of shit that leave carts everywhere, but I hate the idea of having to have coins with me for any reason. It's a moot point though, I haven't set foot in a superstore in years.

The customer service desk will give you a loonie. You don't have to give it back. Profit.
