I think both Tre and Sutter did good jobs jobs but there was obviously a personality clash from top to bottom that caused some major fractioning in the locker room.

Unlike most, I'm not worried about Huberdeau though because I think he will bounce back to a consistent 90 pt guy
It's far too early to rule Huberdeau out. He's right in his prime, and he can find his game under a coach with a smoother delivery. It better work out at double digits...

I think Kadri is overpaid for term, but I believe if the coaching is rectified, can still give some solid years. With him, it's not just his scoring bur his playing style and leadership. But yeah. Not great.

From the sounds of it, this was all Sutter. I'm sure we will hear more about it soon enough, but guys just don't like his approach anymore.

Sutter did a pretty terrible job as a coach this past season, I mean why didn't Huberdeau rack up points while Lucic was on his line?

Blame has to go back on the players as well, Sutter can't be the fall guy for everything went wrong over the season but he definitely played a large part in it.

I love the idea of Mitch Love taking over and already knowing how to make our younger guys excel as he did on the Wranglers, or at least give them a better shot playing NHL games.

There's lots of blame to go around. Not "all Sutter" but he's supposed to be part of the solution not one of the largest problems. Oh well, he can ranch for four sheets a year.

There's some holes on the roster. Fill those with kids from wrangler or PTA guys under age 25 only. Youth movement. Let Lucic have a montage and a role in player development. Have a halfway decent year and suddenly some of those big contracts are tradeable if you want. Marky and Kadri shoukd be shopped at least.

    Tear it down.

I love this idea. I think Lucic is a beauty and a great calming presence. I wouldn't mind a year to year contract at league minimum but I also know that means a spot is taken from a younger guy so player development would be great. That being said, his wife has made tons of comments on social media about going back to Boston so I would imagine if there is any role there (player or otherwise) thats where he is going.

If you were in "win now mode" you might want that guy at league min. If you are in a retool, get a kid, because that kid might get better and Lucic, even though he is a beauty, won't.

Conroy to be named GM - https://twitter.com/darrendreger/sta...gq2kjNJIikckiA

Not much of a surprise, out of who all they interviewed I'd rather go this route personally

I don't think it will matter that much in the end. US teams have a huge advantage in location.... If you're a successful person, the US is a much preferable place to live.

Nope. Same owners, no change except an aged Conroy during his tenure.

Tax and weather are huge, aside from any social differences which are important to some.

Bringing in former stars to run the show didn't exactly work out for Edmonton.

the only star they brought back was Conroy, but he also paid his dues to be an assistant for 8 years. I dont think the comparison is fair.

Today's a bad day for the flames. Seems almost everyone in their last year have stated publicly they won't resign with the flames organization....

Should be interesting to see what comes of it all.

Yea, that’s a lot of guys jumping ship in a single day. Despite what some people think you can’t trade everyone… conroy’s in one that’s for sure.

Kind of weird to see all of it out in public. No one's jumping to the defense of the organization. Makes you wonder wtf is going on.
