I mean your employer/permit holder basically had to come up with a corporate “pace” type plan anyway (PMPP) that you signed off on haha.

It’s not really incremental work in that sense.

I dunno guys I am all about shitting on aoega as much as anyone but I think these changes might actually be positive and less cumbersome.

I can probably re-use a personal dev plan from my work for this purpose, but the way I read it (granted it was a quick skim through the email), I as the member am accountable to develop my own personal CE plan (with zero reporting, but of course I must maintain diligent records to show how I've met and exceeded that plan should Apega choose to fire up the ol' audit-machine). Seemed like potentially more effort vs. reporting CPD hours for regular ol' volunteer shit that I do. Now I have to have a governing plan behind that shit.

I once had to write a PPMP from scratch. That was as much fun as Ebola.

After totally definitely having one for the first 3 years, I looked into having a professional one made but the price tag people were charging was a little silly in my books so instead I just canceled my permit to practice.

What's everyones go to for online things to claim on CPD? Preferably free training / seminars.
For me online/inperson lunch and learn, read aer/provincial acts/directives etc and then like read csa/asme and 1 hr of mentoring.

I'm registered in BC as well and it seems that the new structure mirrors what EGBC is doing now, which I found much more intuitive than the latest iteration of the APEGA PD plan. Activities are broken up into fewer categories with broader definitions so I found it way easier to organize things vs. stressing over whether something is formal or informal activity. For reference, the EGBC continuing education plan template is 6 pages total, 3 of which are an appendix with a risk assessment tool where you answer multiple choice questions on your level of experience, how much supervision you receive, consequences of failure related to your practice, etc. Then the bulk of the plan is 1 page with a table where you identify some learning needs and pick activities to address those needs. It might have taken 3 or 4 hours for me to set up initially including doing one of the mandatory online modules, but it still seemed way more streamlined than the APEGA portal.
